The staggering amount of humility and kindness Pete has had throughout that story to say in the end " We became friends and I thought him checkers" speaks volumes about his character and his internal honor system Imo. freaking legend for being able to do that, and indeed show that in the end, even though he had his setbacks through the story as a kid, he came out on top, anyway, you slice it. mad respect no joke.

I know the freedom joke is worn out but... They can't go shooting in a highly supervised range, with insanely restrictive safety rules, staff members to help, and rented weapons!? As an American weeb, it's like the most foreign mindset I've seen. Freedom tho'?

Nothing quite like the indignance of a middle class white person experiencing racial intolerance for the first time. My wife was the same in Japan where I met her. She eventually learned to wait calmly and politely when it happened to me at home in the UK and going through airports.

It also exposes a not so good guest who is creating lulls and the boys have to either interject or fake laugh. Whereas when premiertwo Pete is a guest you can see a genuine smile on their faces and sitting on the edge of their seats engrossed by the stories. It is what it is.

A lot of Japanese mega fans conveniently forget that it is a real place, with actual humans and not anime characters. And like most humans, these people have their own prejudices. And like most prejudiced people if you are not of the correct skin color or do not speak the correct language they will look down on you.

sad to see so many comments do not understand that this is extremely exaggerated as much as I love both of them I whish they would have mentioned the Hotel by name so the Hotel could sue them (and before your screech, there is no freedom of expression for disparaging remarks in Japan)

They really pity those people who, at any cost in a childish and stubborn manner, try to defend Japan by bringing up excuse after excuse to justify the behavior of the Japanese.

I remember being invited to lunch by a Japanese acquaintance to a posh restaurant in Nihonbashi. I arrived early and walked in by myself, and the staff were horrified. There were whispers, and a call to the manager. He walked up to me and said very haughtily indeed that the restaurant was for members only, and that I couldn't eat there. I told him I was meeting someone, and gave him the person's name. The manager's face froze, and he looked like he couldn't breathe. The whispers and hostility quickly turned to confusion and panic, followed by groveling apologies, which warmed my heart. My acquaintance was the chairman of one of Japan's largest conglomerates, and also owned the building in which the restaurant was located.

How do these ppl intend to stay in business? You're a fking hotel. Tourists are your goddamn life blood. And these two are actively well known to encourage wider travel of Japan to revitalise areas economies. Why are these people so freaking dumb?

Yes, I had the same experience too, appendix ruptured... so had it clean up and have to stay in Hospital for a week to check if I don't get peritonitis. Cannot move much so I have tube inserted into my WingWong and it stayed there for 4 to 5 days, by the time it's time to remove it.. the tube is kinda "fused" a bit with the flesh of my WingWong.. The burning sensation of your WingWong's inside as they pull the tube out... oopphh.. just talking about it made my WingWong shrink into WittleWong

I feel so bad for Pete man, he's obviously a smart guy he should've been able to get at least a 27 easily, and maybe even higher depending on how much he studied. I have ADHD but my school actually taught me and I got a 20 on the ACT in eighth grade and a 30 or 31 by my senior year of high school. And that's important because scholarships will give you more money if you can hand over higher test scores, so he might have missed out on a decent amount of money for his college education. All because of one mistake he made when he was in MIDDLE SCHOOL. He didn't deserve a 21.
