I have never seen any bears up in the high country of the sierras. The only times I’ve seen them have been in Yosemite. They tend to be where there’s a lot of people and where the people are not there are no bears at least that’s my experience is.

Never stop doing the Sierras, friend. Keep on doing it backcountry/cross-country! I haven't been to Honeymoon Lake, but have been nearby at Seven Gables/Sandpiper Lake just west of Honeymoon Lk. (back in the late 1970s!). You cannot beat the Sierras! Thank you for sharing.

It looks you were in Humphrey basin. I only recongnize lost lakes and Muriel lakes. It would be great if you could write down the lakes you visited in the descriptions.

If you are familiar with that area than you should be able to figure out where I am from the Day 1 video, I explain which lakes I went too. I’m not giving their names because I don’t want to make them more popular or draw too much attention to them. I don’t want to jeopardize their solitude.

Great video but what an experience! I had an unexplained UFO experience almost exactly a year ago at a trailhead near the PCT just north of Cascade Locks but I've never encountered anything similar to what you described. Good luck on the rest of your trip!

Your serene morning in the forest, surrounded by birdsong and tea, followed by an exploration of the creek, paints a tranquil and picturesque scene. Your ability to capture the beauty of nature and share it with such warmth is truly inspiring. And I am Floating Village Life

I grew up in Ojai and hiked all over with my scout troop. from 72-73 I lived in Sisar Canyon on the Dron property with a group of hippies in a sort of commune. last time I was there was 2001 on a sentimental journey to see what I'd left behind when I moved to Michigan. the canyon is as I remember it including the second creek crossing where I got stuck in my 1960 vw beetle after a rain. yeah, I got unstuck and drove on into the commune. happy days!

Excellent. Could watch hours of this. Thanks Lot of frogs. Did you see any snakes? Re breaking hiking pole. I always hunt for branch hiking poles. They are better and seek and ye shall find lol is what I’ve found. I’ve found dozens and dozens hiking. Re “shaky” I now choose 60 fps on my GoPros and really helps. And 120 fps when I really want best no shakiness Re walking sticks I inspect the tree debris piles and select from. Tree debris piles provide.

The first time I did this I saw a snake. This time I ended up taking a break and napping on a large rock. I woke up to a fox sitting nearby but I wasn’t fast enough to grab the camera. I use found sticks too but not always. I’m working on a really cool video at the moment, I can’t wait for it to be finished. It is a 9 mile backpacking trip along the Sespe, Wild and Scenic River Trail.

Thank you so much for taking the time to comment. As much as I want to share the location with you I don’t want a lot of people going there and ruining the place, but I’ll tell you it is near Little Lakes Valley in the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California. I have POV hiking videos ready to go public every Friday until the middle of December and some scenery videos with natural sounds every Tuesday until then too. I’m also working on making more videos.
