I play french horn of course im the only one

i wish i wasn’t the only horn in my grade cause whenever we have to play something as a group like (say clarinet plays a part) im the only one who plays and everyone just stares

Jaime Jamison I suggest you try the Patterson Mello Leadpipe which allows for a Normal French Horn Mouthpiece & I prefer that over a Mellophone Mouthpiece as the Mellophone is an Octave above the French Horn.

I play French horn of course people forget that I exist. True story, band director didn’t have one for years so I had no extra sectional rehearsal placement and got to sit wherever.

Oh wooow that is so good for 7th grade??? I've been playing the horn for 8 years (and am gonna continue) but it took me way longer to fully do that scale cleanly, even in high school. Now I've been taking horn lessons and am in the top bands at my school, and can play so much better and with so much more confidence, but I still sometimes struggle. I think the issue the most with horn players is they are so insecure about their playing, I was so bad that I just wanted to quit and I was never confident enough to play out. It took YEARS to build the confidence I now have, but that confidence really makes a huge difference, because ANY horn player can play amazingly, they just need the confiedence to do so.
