Yes, I never open my .5 guard. 2 is the highest guard I ever use. And rarely now do I use my 1.5 guard. I’ll use my open 1 and closed 1 then my .5

Whatever the highest guard I use in the side, wheatjer it’s a 2 or a 1.5. I will come straight up. You essentially want to create a square both of the sides and then across the top. You always want to keep men’s haircuts square looking not round. The more round of haircut is gives it a more feminine look so you always wanna keep it square straight up on the sides.

That’s how I cut, more so with kids because they are always moving but everyone has their own way of cutting.

You can use a higher guard, but that usually ads time to the cut. If I were you I would practice the clipper over comb method and get good at that. In the long run that’s going to save you so much time

You could do your longer guards. But that would be the longest way to do it. The fastest way would be either clipper, overcome or overcome, or just using texturizing shears at the parietal Ridge.

If I was going to tell you what clippers I would start with I would say the stylecraft Rebels. They have a super torque motor so they would be a lot stronger than any of those.
