I FIRST LEARNED THIS DANCE AT THE 92nd STREET 'Y' IN NEW YORK CITY BACK IN THE 1970s RUTH GOODMAN WAS THE DANCE INSTRUCTOR EVERY WEDNESDAY NIGHT AND THERE ARE 2 SUBTLE DIFFERENCES IN THE STEPS FROM THE ORIGINAL WAY I LEARNED IT FIRST IN THE BRUSH STEPS IT'S STEP BRUSH BEHIND BUT THEIR DOING FORWARD INSTEAD ALSO JUST BEFORE YOU CROSS TO THE OTHER SIDE YOU LEAN GENTLY BACK YOUR FOOT A BIT IN THE AIR LOOSELY KICKING IT BEFORE YOU CROSS TO THE OTHER SIDE , BUT THEY ARE DOING A SLIGHT KNEE JERKING ACTION INSTEAD BEFORE THEY CROSS !
