If I were writing the script for Batman II here is my take: Twist, Vic ends up waking up in the park. He ends up surviving which breaks him and sends him on the path of Vengeance. Turns out he encounters Bruce Wayne who actually finds him in the park and takes him in allowing Vic to recover. They bond over losing their parents and what happened with the penguins betrayal. Vic tells Bruce all about Oz which puts him on Batmans radar. Vic opens up to Bruce about his anger for the loss of his family. Hes pissed at Batman too for letting this happen. He ends up stumbling upon the batcave and discovers that Bruce is Batman. Vic struggles with this info wanting to inform the world but deciding to keep it a secret because of his integrity. He confronts Bruce who admits it and convinces Vic to join him. Tells him he and Alfred can help train him. Bruce tells him he can make a difference, he can start over. That he is ment for something greater. So he becomes, ROBIN. The symbolism a Robin represents is, family, a fresh start, rejuvination so it fits perfectly. The last shot of The Penguin we see Vics ID floating in the water. This becomes symbolic as it shows a submergance of his old identity. A cleansing of sorts. In order to keep a low profile and to not let The Penguin know hes alive he decides to use an alias. Dick Greyson.

Starlord was originally an irresponsible frigid manchild who massacred his fellow astronauts to gain power and seek out revenge. He was changed to be more likeable later. The comics aren't the gold standard a lot of them are just plain rubbish and writers good and bad alike changed characters all the time. The comics don't teanslate well to film and I like that James is trying to capture atleast some of the superman essence from what we see in the trailer.

title is inflammatory and blatantly false, auteurs and directors have visions and a unique artistic direction/flare. just because you notice obvious patterns in his work or a certain style of filmmaking, doesn’t make his work repetitive or indistinguishable.

Look up pictures of Superman's New 52 suit and his Fortnite suit This suit is just a blend of those two. Gunn doesn't design the suits, he just signs off on them.

Taking obscure characters and elevating them by changing them is a staple of comics. The version of Blade from the Wesley Snipes movies was nothing like Blade from the comics, not even from the same country but he elevated the character into a household name. The same can be said for Tony Stark, Thanos, T'Challa, Scott Lang, Black Widow, Scarlet Witch, Agatha Harkness and even the concept of the The Thunderbolts. They even do it in comics like when Chris Clairmont and Jim Lee randomly decided to change Psylocke into a Japanese woman or like when Brian Michael Bendis wrote Avengers Disassembled when he changed the Scarlet Witch into a psychopathic murderer and retconned the nature of her powers so he can set up a decade of Marvel events.

He doesn't make the same films, he uses similar elements, tones and visual language. All directors do this but so do franchises like Final Fantasy and it works. Also, he's not making the entire DCU, just Superman. You have nothing to worry about.

I think Gunn is possibly the best writer for the "Found Family" trope in films. GOTG, Scooby Doo, The Suicide Squad, Creature Commando's, Peacemaker. All those films and TV shows had a foundation in finding your family. I think that trope is very easily adaptable for a Superman film considering it's pretty easy to write superman as out of place emotionally if people dont exactly love him, and having him find himself throughout the movie with the other heroes and Lois and Jimmy is a great place to start a story imo. I don't think this will be a team-up movie at all like I have seen others around the internet say. It's a world that already has a bunch of heroes in it for years now, of course they will show up in the movie, doesnt mean we need full on character development for them in this movie itself when they are just side characters. As for the suits, James Gunn in DC has done fantastic with giving comic accurate suits that look great so far. I anticipate that maybe it's just this movie that we see the JLI characters in the Maxwell Lord suits or maybe by the end they have their actual comic suits. Super pumped for this movie and the DCU. Creature Commando's has been great so far.

Honestly, I feel like I'm not worried at all about James Gunn changing things. If his movies have taught me anything, it's that changing characters from the comics is okay, as long as those changes take the characters in an interesting direction. And almost to a full ratio, his takes on characters do that. Mantis is the best example. Any fan of the comics will tell you that Mantis in the movies is NOTHING like how she is in the comics. But you know what? People DON'T LIKE HER in the comics. Like, AT ALL. So overhauling her character completely, if anything, was desperately needed. She was my favourite version of Mantis for a while. Then the GOTG game came out, merged her MCU version with aspects of her comic version, and now THAT'S my favourite Mantis. James Gunn seems to have a good understanding of how to change his characters in a way that will benefit the story he wants to tell. All his movies are VERY character-driven, so getting characters right is important to him. That's something I've been wanting from a Superman movie for a while.

Yea, for me the animation immediately gave me vibes of those new animated DC "Tomorrowverse" movies. They all used 3D assets mixed with 2D backgrounds and certain animations, and none of them looked better than BTAS from 1993. They don't even look better than the previous DC movies like Death of Superman, or that Injustice movie.

Im honestly in the disliking for the Osborns to be race swapped cause for one, there has been too much of that at once over the past few years. The second thing is... well there is a lack of white people in the show which says a lot about what they are trying to say (at least that is how I am interpreting it).

I was puzzled why they were changed to Blk ppl until i noticed the whyte community gets upset when blks are added to anything and labled as "woke"

@ I think the arc was beautiful, people are just impatient, and ignorant/blind to everything keeping them from just regurgitating what has been done dozens of times before. They showed us a Spider-Man that was still a TEENAGER IN HIGH SCHOOL. Yes he’s going to be influenced by the adults in his life. He’s legally NOT AN ADULT. That shit matters. They started him at the beginning. He has EVERYWHERE to go. Why are we all trying to jump the gum?

i'm hopeful for the show. didn't like how the mcu spidey had ironman, who was used for the uncle ben replacement, and depend on him. sure, he does do stuff, breaking apart, doing his own solo act, but still, he shouldn't need to do this for tony's commands. even in civil war, he says to sam and bucky that he needs to do this for mr. stark. spidey is meant to be a teen superhero, breaking apart from only the adults can be superheroes mold. that's my only problem. the theme song for the new series is rad.

Turning the Osbornes black makes so much sense because its one thing for Norman to have waves but Harry and Norman's cousin, Sandman also have waves too so we know its gotta be genetic and some black people naturally have waves.

This art style is very old school so I can see people being turned off by it but the animation style is terrible, jarring and will immediately turn people away. I just hope it has a good story or this will be the internet's next punching bag.

My expectations aren’t also high for this show either but I am hoping really hoping that this show does surprise us and give us a good Spider-Man show again but we shall see what happens for this show, even though personally I would follow a adult peter Parker Spider-Man who’s married to his wife Mary Jane and they have there daughter mayday Parker spider girl for a animated show, I am hoping maybe this show could be good if they pull it off but we shall see.

Very simple question, If it is wrong to have kids on the battlefield, does it become right simply because the kid in question wants to be on the battlefield so much?? Why would Batman be justified for recruiting Dick simply because Dick wants to be on the battlefield so much??

The issue is that having Robin is straight up a character assassination for Batman, Alfred and James Gordon. Like why would Batman who knows how dangerous crime fighting can be allow a kid go out and fight crime in brightly coloured clothes? Well the answer is because Batman is insane.....and BOOM. Just like that, character assassination. Yes Batman dresses like a bat, but to say that is his sole reason for why he is insane is lazy and to further more say that is the reason why he would endanger children is just horrible. I don't think the need for relatability jutifies this characteristic assassination.

Look a lot of people may or may not like to hear this but. It’s a possibility that Pattinson Batman will be the dcu Batman. 2027: the Batman part 2. Dick Grayson will become robin. 2028: dynamic duo animated movie. Dick meets Jason 2028: teen titans 2029: brave and the bold

@ money talks at the end of the day. I’m a firm believer in that. A lot of directors and actors can say what they want but when that big old check comes in than it’s different. The Batman part 1: Batman age 28 year 2 The Batman part 2: Batman age 33 year 5. 5 years after the events of the Batman part 1 Bruce realizes he needs more training and so just like the comics he goes around the world getting more training and getting smarter making him a more fantastical Batman. Dynamic duo: Batman age 34: 1 year after part 2 dick Grayson loses his parents in the circus and meets Jason Todd. They both try to steal the batmobile in the end only for Batman to find them. Batman realizes one of the kids is the kid from the circus and adopts these 2 as his robins Teen titans: 3 years after Batman meets dick and Jason. Jason almost is killed by joker because he decided to go after joker for paralyzing batgirl. Bruce and dick save him in time but Jason gets angry at Batman turning joker in rather than killing him causing him to leave. Batman realizes that he doesn’t want a Robin anymore because he doesn’t wanna lose anyone and tells dick that he can’t be robin but Grayson obviously doesn’t listen and leaves and forms the teen titans shortly after. And now 2 years has passed since that incident and Batman is now 39. Dick has been with the titans for awhile and this is where the teen titans movie takes place with dick becoming nightwing in the end Batman brave and the bold: Batman age 40. 1 year after teen titans Bruce meets Damian As for tim drake u can introduce him in a future sequel to dynamic duo called the robins where Tim becomes Red Robin and teams up with nightwing red hood robin(Damian) and he meets Batman at the end. This is my idea how it could work. And in no way am I saying that James Gunn is gonna do this but my point is I wrote what I wrote above to show that it is possible to incorporate Matt reeves Batman into the dcu if you write it right

@@hungryalmighty7156I totally agree with you. Matt Reeves Batman is the prequel to the DCU BatMan reason why Gunn is establishing the Bat Family and D Wayne as his Robin. Through Matt Reeves Batman we're watching him grow up, however I believe Tim Drake will be Robin in The Brave and The Bold and towards the end of the film Damian will take the mantle.

@@PrimordialBeing360 the problem with Tim is than it’s to much robins from a casual perspective. I’m a firm believer of source material but depending on the circumstances there can be times when u can deviate from the source material a little bit. It’s much easier to say “hey this is Damian Wayne the new robin who is the son of Batman but before him there was 1 robin that became nightwing and another robin that was killed by joker” u could always introduce Tim at a later point. Maybe in the dcu tim follows the chronicles of Batman and Robin but instead of him following the chronicles of dick Grayson robin like in the comics it’s Damian Wayne. Than he finds the bat cave and helps Batman and Robin by using the bat computer essentially becoming the new oracle type of character for the bat family and than later as time progresses as he spends more time with the bat family he eventually becomes Red Robin in a future movie

Man this trailer brings back so much childhood in me especially with the John Williams theme this trailer is everything what Superman is. hope kindness and always protecting the people he loves and the kid saying Superman is exactly how I want future super hero movies to be none of the multi verse stuff we are sick of that
