Excellent video. You're right this is a great watch for the price. I'd rather buy this than a Pagani if I'm honest. Reasons? Because as you state, this isn't a watch to wear for an occasion, it's a daily driver. You wear this for work. If it gets lost or damaged no great drama. Just buy another. That's where it's true value lies. It's disposability. Then spend £300-£400 on a real Seiko and use that for those special occasions. Or as I have done buy a Seestern 62MAS and mod it.

My are more precize in start, problem are not precize but in reserve , you must where when you sleep, it s very small movment I never see smaller, max reserve is 8-12 hours, precize on mashine -7 plus 10 in 4 day and now -4 plus 7, no resrve hours in small movment.

I tested my watch crystal starting from 2 like you and it went up to red nearly fully red. Do you know why?

$28?! Amazing. Can you comment on the colors of the nato strap? The homage straps are often a muted black/yellow/grey, but all of the images I see of Paula Reis's homages look brighter, and light they're actually black/pink/ light blue. I was considering buying just for that strap.

I believe the latest batch of this watch has a different bezel insert that says Tachymeter 400. Such a shame if this is true. This is what's holding me back from making my purchase.

I went to Phylida and was tented to buy with the PT5000 but ended up with the Miyota 8215 because of two things: First the price, 106€ over the price of 160€ with the PT, everything with coupons and discounts on 11.11 Aliexpress. Secondly, I have some watches with the Miyota 8215 and they all run great, not loud screeching when I wound it and all of them have hacking functionality, therefore I trust it more because I've experienced it, it's old but gold based movement with many years of trustworthy resistance and reliability, at least for all of my Miyota movements, and this Phylida one is the more accurate of them all, 0 to +2 Spd and with a 0.1 of beat error! 🙌 Mine came with improved bracelet omega seamaster 300 style, and they reduced the size of the helium escape valve, after I've unscrewed it, it was a pain to screw it again so be warned. Unfortunately I have a QC with the 12 o'clock indices, both a little bit crooked, not so noticeable, but enough to give me some nerves 😂 when I found it and difficult to forget now! Trying to get an answer from Phylida about this, still waiting for an answer... Conclusion, the watch does feel a 5k grand Omega Seamaster 300 with the steel bracelet (Didn't needed to size it, it fitted on the wrist perfectly on first try!), worth every penny! 🎉

I got my 1639 (the bigger one) today. It's ok. My newer model pagani design watches are actually much much better. The recent seamaster 007 homage is like a deadass 10/10; the 1639 is ... a 7.. However, for the cost, its still incredible. What I will say, you should have a dose of self awareness before purchasing the 1369. I have monster wrists and this thing is genuinely huge; it fits me fairly well, but I have 8..25" wrist, the 1661 is most certainly going to suit more people better. The bracelet is weird; its both very well made (solid end links, screw in links, deployant clasp, diver extension, etc) but its finished like absolute ass haha. I spent a few hours polishing and finishing up mine, and its a million times better lol. Its very light actually, a lot of cheaper watches with "solid" bracelets wind up being outrageously heavy, this is light but doesnt feel cheap. All in all, the newer models are going to be superior; like its not even close. That said, I paid 70$ for it, and I absolutely can not complain here lol; its fantastic. My main complaint is the bezel slop combined with it being a 21mm (why?) bracelet size. The heart is a seiko, so it'll probably last until the heat death of the universe. 7/10 watch, the PD 1667 is like a 12/10, I can comfortable directly compare it to my black bay 58; its that unreasonably good. Im not sure if I got a good one but its unreasonably high quality lol. Im mildly let down ,but that is my own issue from setting the bar too high. A small correction, the 1639 is a *Sea Dweller* homage, not a submariner. Reference -> 126600. The 1661 is an homage to the submariner (of course) Reference -> 116610. Pedantic but is what it is.

Very cool my man. Much appreciate the shout-out, and I was onlytoo happy to help you out with some content fodder. This watch is genuinely pretty good .. clasp not withstanding. But the movement and build quality are decent. Very good for the price point. Of course .. you'd expect a $10,000 Rolex to feel better than a $150 homage :P .. which it does (unsurprisingly) .. but that's not to say one couldn't be happy with this homage. Great review Kwan .. lets do lunch again sometime whilst we talk watches .. we could even film it :P

Can it be paired with iOS 16 ?

I have the Alpha 1993 version from Alpha - Europe. The Alpha uses the ST1903 movement, so it has a 24 hour subdial. I think that adds a bit more "functionality" than simply mirroring the hour hands that the Phylida does. The Alpha has a screw down crown and is rated on it's website as 5ATM. However, I doubt the water resistance ratings on a lot of these products, simply because I don't believe they actually pressure test any of these. I also like the "brand" name better. Alpha - Omega. They are both greek letters. I'm not sure what a Phylida is. The Phylida offers Sapphire where as the Alpha is merely Mineral Glass. So that's a win for the Phylida. If you simply can't afford a Speedy, or want to test drive one prior to laying out thousands, then these may fit your bill. Also, if you really want a cool movement, but aren't really into the Seagull 1963 looks, this one might fill your bill.
