Lately I've encountered an embarrassment of riches of the Brahms op. 114. This performance is right up there with the best. The ensemble playing is of the highest order: flexible, allowing ample solo moments with perfect harmonic support. The clarinet and cello bring out the most lyrical and searching playing and the piano surrounds the ensemble in a finely calibrated core role.

The glissando in Rhapsody in Blue came as the result of an experiment by Ross Gorman, (the clarinetist in the piece) who was known for his ability to make incredibly odd sounds with his clarinet.
