Btw the board and the fence, you left a concerning space - what if you get growth back there? Like a tree root ?

The hardy board was not a good idea, it is porous and without a proper vapor barrier and air gap between the bed and wood fence, it will cause the fence to rot. It would have been better to have built a 4 sided box with sufficient air gap between fence and bed.

It is questionable construction in the event of an earthquake, the blocks wasn't tied with rebars, and the foundation is questionable.

Love the blocks but what really gets me and does my head in is the caps... They don't fit in any direction they over hang and doesn't match the brick brack.

Great video! I'm looking to start my own paving project, I just have some anxiety about the site prep. How do you know that you have dug deep enough throughout the whole area? And with that, how can you tell its all level? Also wouldnt you want to have the slope within the lower levels of site prep?

To make it even easier you should just set the blade rather than having to move it up and down all the time. Just set it and push the brick through on the tray which slides. SO all you have to do is push the paver through the blade and you can keep both hands on the paver at all times for control. Easier, faster, more control.

Hi Jason, I’m having to create a DYI spoon drain to get the deluge of rain to flow onto a shared driveway. I’m going to use bricks & pavers. Not much give to get the flow right. I’ve dug it out, whacked in B Grade, spread the paving sand, yet to whack it and ready to lay the bricks/pavers. Any advice would be helpful to get this fall right🙌🤞🤞🤞 Thanks in anticipation of your advice. Cheers, Jennie 🙏🏻

Looks high maintenance. Around here that will grow vegetation in a month, not to mention rock loss due to erosion over time. Looks nice though!

Worked right on the first try. I paid careful attention to work on sand to prevent it from shattering. Thanks

i am building a small retaining wall. I will have my base and then pack it down. I am considering pouring dry cement on top of it then laying my base blocks down. What do you think of this? what could be some potential issues?
