he sold his soul. the orishas are powerful deities and ppl like him and beyonce (she practices it too) practice this for worldy desires. if you seen the video with the white guy in kensington and interviewing its very evident in how skrilla speaks and pretty much sold his soul. in videos i’ve seen he’s high on drugs all the time, to me it seems he couldn’t handle the power that was given to him or he got what he granted and had to make a sacrifice (sell his soul)

I am initiated to Ifa im a child of shango. We don’t sell our souls and these sacrifices are simple offerings that we don’t do too often or else it’s considered wasteful and cruel. The orishas are beings god (olodumare/olofi) share his power with. Think of it as a light going through a prism. They are here to guide us in many different ways depending on who you are. Skrilla is santo/santeria,I’m Ifa. The difference: Ifa A divination system that uses a tray of cowrie shells and a system of signs interpreted by an Ifa priest, or babalawo. Ifa practitioners can divine for themselves, and some say it gives access to all the Orisha. Ifa cosmology is based on the idea that the microcosm (environment) reflects the macrocosm (universe). Santería Also known as La Regla Lucumí or Rule of Osha, Santería is a syncretic religion that combines Yoruba beliefs with Catholicism. Santería worships a supreme god and hundreds of orishas, which are divine mythical gods and goddesses that can communicate with humans. Santería followers often consult with godparents and are primarily linked with one orisha. Santería rituals include dancing, drumming, speaking, and eating with the spirits.

In Ifa we work closer with the orishas than they do in Santeria. It’s all based on intention because I won’t lie there is a lot of people who join Ifa for bad reasons and they end up having bad things happen to them because they’re playing with such a powerful force. It can bring you greatness as it can bring you tragedy. My brother who’s head orisha is Ogun (an enemy of shango in most patakis/stories) was initiated and he didn’t do very good things (I can’t specify for legal reasons) and ended up becoming my enemy fr. Everything he caused on other people basically happened to him. I don’t know where he is currently but I finally pity him.

Shango is a very powerful Orisha who’s very protective of his followers just as ogun so yk he was gon slide for me. Just be a good person and side note just believe in whatever makes you happy in the end.
