I've got a small pewter shield that I want to paint my coat of arms on. I'm new to miniature painting and it's going in a doll's house. I'd like it to look as though it was an heirloom/display piece. In your more experienced opinion should I use gloss or matte enamel paint?
@riffhurricane Жыл бұрын
Personally I'd go with acrylic paints, much easier to work with & water based as well. You'll get your metals looking shiny & your non metallic stuff looking matt. If you varnish it afterwards depending on what you want you have a choice of matt & gloss products to use.

Any recommendations for getting the paint off?
@cameronrich21602 жыл бұрын
soak it in acetone, use a toothbrush after about 24 hours, pipe cleaners if you have them. sometimes may need a second soak depending on what paints on them. If you have a ton to do order some Biostrip 20 from the UK

What can I do to remove glue(super glue) from a used miniature?
@FigMakes3 жыл бұрын
Your best bet is mail polish remover, put some onto a q tip and hold it against the glue, this may take a little time but it should loosen the bond
@diogomueller98173 жыл бұрын
@@FigMakes it will not "eat" the metal? Have you ever made it?
@FigMakes3 жыл бұрын
@@diogomueller9817 it may discolour the metal but it shouldn't damage it

@@FigMakes thank bro, I sarch in all internet and haven't found a tutorial of how to repair metal used monies(like removing the old super glue , repining the minor or how to fill little parts like swords, arrow that are broken in half ) Excuse me for my poor english I'm from Brazil and don't study english for a little while

just a fyi note, i did this with some skylanders, you dont need a band saw to get them off the bases. leaver them off with a flat head screw driver under the foot

My current campaign doesn't have much call for them, just one encounter to spice things up, its pretty undead centric but i'm always on the look out for good minis so thanks for the suggestion

What a great idea, customising cheap minis, just like the spider video. Really a good example of getting creative with your game play. 👍🏻

Interesting encounter idea, those dogs are huge compared to the miniatures; if we assume they are to scale that is not an encounter I would want to have happen as a lower level character. Scale wise they would more be large as opposed to medium as per the stats for wild dogs. Definitely like the idea of having them come back to life after being dealt with and having them do necrotic damage the second time around.
@FigMakes6 жыл бұрын
Fnordathoth true but i had to make do with the minis i found. The pack of 10 cost 1.50 as opposed to offcial stuff which can cost over $10 each
@Fnordathoth6 жыл бұрын
And I love what you did, totally not ragging on it at all, I was only suggesting the idea that these dogs could potentially be even more terrifying. A Bear Dog from 5e for example would scale wise be a good fit for stats I think maybe?
@FigMakes6 жыл бұрын
Fnordathoth there's a frightening thought. A pack of rabid St Bernards or something
