For those interested in strategy, the tyres weren't really wearing out much. They had plenty of grip and not everyone had big flat spots. However, with the way the Pitlane entry and exit were, it was actually very little timeloss for a tyre change, so it became worth chucking a new set of Softs on for the second half of the race.

Codriver sounds like Travis Pastrana's codriver? Does her numbered calls generally line up with the numbers from codemasters games? Like their "3" turn is roughly the same? I've been using Janne's v3 descriptive notes but he will occasionally call a "six" which is way different from a Dirt Rally "six" and has ended a few rallies for me.
@rallyroymadnessАй бұрын
I am using Jen Horsey as codriver in the game, I don't think she has read for Pastrana? Memory might serve me wrong, though, as US rallying is not my strongest field of expertise 😄 The grading of corners is for me based on the default, basic codriver that comes with he game. So the codriver mod I am using is putting "3" instead of the default "medium" and such, so I don't really know how it compares with the DR notes. The good thing about RBR is that you can tweak the notes yourself, though, so you can get the tricky ones more to your liking 🙂

Shame on what happened on Sleeping Warrior. This was for me in my time in RBR (6 months and my 3rd wheel using a wheel) the toughest rally I've done. Mentally it was very grueling. I was in the Rally3 and I had a surprising clean rally until on Mineshaft I crashed ending all the work done before. I can say that I enjoyed the rally except the end result. I enjoy watching these streams for the APRC (mainly because the Coosie is my favorite A8 car).
@rallyroymadness4 ай бұрын
The safari rallys in RBR tend to be tough, some of the stages are really rough and rutted and can throw you way off the road in the blink of an eye. Sleeping Warrior is a different challenge, keeping an average of around 120 kph for 27 kilometers is a task in its own! Thanks for tuning in, the Escort is my favourite car of the A8-era too 🙂

Nice stream. The Ford Fiesta Rally3 is a fun car to drive on tarmac and fast gravel. As a controller player, it's fun and easy to drive. It's easy to get to 98% of the car but then the 2% can be found in setup and driving. Although the car lacks grunt on stages like Portugal and gravel superspecials (when trying use the throttle to maintain a slide). It's very fun to drive on tarmac aswell. I must ask however. What co driver mod are you using? I've never heard this one before and I'm curouis to try this one out.

Nice proper blips on the downshifts. I suppose clutch is not needed for handbrake (seq only) but useful for revving up by dumping the clutch to get the car going and prevent stalling?
@rallyroymadness6 ай бұрын
I do the blips (on pure reflex) on the downshifts to avoid stalling the engine, which is really easy to do in the heavy breaking zones. The handbrake on these older 4WDs often lock all 4 wheels because of how the diffs were configured, so I have increased the "punch" of the rear diff to get the car properly rotated, and that is more effective with a clutch kick 🙂
