My dad had one. His was light green. He bought it for $75 in 1959. It was in very nice condition with low miles. He took good care of his car. Always parked in the garage waxed and polished and maintenance. He sold it to a neighbor in 1985 and then my cousin bought it in 2012. The guy who bought it from my dad only drove it a couple of times and it sat in the garage since. When my cousin bought it, the engine was stuck and with a lot of work he finally got it unstuck and barely running smoking really bad. He pulled the engine out and totally rebuilt it and now it runs like new. Fortunately, the previous owner had it covered so the exterior and interior were great shape. Now my cousin drives it and goes cruising and takes it to car shows. I’m glad that car survived all those years after my dad sold it.

My best friend's brother had a black 1971 Mk III. We were both staying down Cape Cod in 1975. Summer was over and Dad said it was ok if I rode home with them. Me, and my friend got in the back, with his sister in the middle. I felt like a King back there. Darkness fell while radio played softly, and we three kids drifted off during the long ride home...
