I love how John Cale plays hanky panky with all his music. He's always challenging himself and his listeners with new sounds and interpretations of his songs, never content with the same. I saw Lou Reed just once. but still dream of seeing this man...a true giant.

Thoughtfully lazy layers of brilliance

It's good to hear this song performed live and well. I believe the album this is from, "Paris 1919", was at least partly inspired by John Cale's connection with Nick Drake when he played on one of Drake's albums. In any case, it contains some of Cale's best work.
