I love Amelda so much I actually got him as my first tattoo. He’s so fascinating and rich with potential, I just wish he wasn’t abandoned like all the other anime only characters. It doesn’t help that ppl don’t really talk about s4 of the duel monsters anime which is so sad Amelda is such a little treat :(

It's easy to view Dartz as just another villain in the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" series, but if we take a closer look, it's clear that his character is far more tragic and complex than most people realize. Dartz isn’t just a one-dimensional antagonist driven by a desire for power or destruction. Instead, he’s a deeply tortured soul, corrupted by the very forces he sought to control, and a victim of circumstances far beyond his control. First, let’s delve into Dartz's backstory. Dartz was once the ruler of the ancient civilization of Atlantis, a civilization that was thriving and prosperous. However, everything changed when the Orichalcos stone was discovered. This stone, which was believed to be a source of immense power, quickly began to corrupt the hearts and minds of the people of Atlantis, including Dartz himself. The Orichalcos didn’t just amplify people’s darkest desires-it completely twisted their perception of reality. Dartz, who was once a benevolent leader, began to see humanity as inherently evil and unworthy of existence. This belief was only strengthened when he witnessed the destruction and chaos that the Orichalcos caused in his once-peaceful kingdom. But here’s where Dartz's tragedy truly begins. The Orichalcos didn’t just corrupt Dartz; it took everything from him. He lost his wife and daughter to the very forces he had unleashed, which left him utterly broken and consumed by grief. It’s important to note that this wasn’t entirely his fault-he was manipulated by a force that was far greater than anything he could have ever imagined. The Orichalcos preyed on his love for his family and his kingdom, twisting those emotions into a deep-seated hatred for humanity. In many ways, Dartz’s actions throughout the series are those of a man who has been completely and utterly corrupted by grief and loss. His desire to revive the Great Leviathan and destroy the world isn’t born out of a genuine hatred for humanity, but rather out of a desperate need to end the suffering that has consumed him for millennia. He believes that by wiping out humanity, he can atone for the sins of his past and bring an end to the cycle of pain and destruction that the Orichalcos has caused. Furthermore, Dartz’s character is a reflection of the dangers of unchecked power and the impact of deep emotional trauma. The Orichalcos stone is a metaphor for the corrupting influence of power, and Dartz is a tragic victim of that power. He didn’t seek to destroy the world out of malice; he did it because he genuinely believed it was the only way to save it. In his mind, humanity had become so corrupted that the only way to cleanse it was through total annihilation. This isn’t the thought process of a typical villain-it’s the thought process of someone who has been driven to the brink of madness by forces beyond his control. Ultimately, Dartz is a tragic figure because he embodies the idea that even the best intentions can be corrupted when influenced by dark forces. He was once a loving husband, father, and king, but the Orichalcos took all of that away from him. His journey is a cautionary tale about the dangers of allowing grief and power to consume you, and it’s a reminder that even the most well-intentioned people can fall victim to corruption if they’re not careful. In conclusion, Dartz is not just a villain-he’s a tragic hero who was corrupted by the very forces he sought to control. His actions, while undeniably horrific, are rooted in a deep-seated pain and grief that he never had the chance to properly deal with. While he is certainly responsible for the destruction he caused, it’s important to remember that he, too, was a victim in all of this. The Orichalcos twisted his mind and his heart, turning him into something he never wanted to be. Dartz’s story is a powerful reminder of the dangers of unchecked power and the importance of dealing with emotional trauma before it consumes you. Dartz’s tale is a tragic one, and it’s a testament to the depth and complexity of the "Yu-Gi-Oh!" series that it can create a character who is both a villain and a victim at the same time. We should not just condemn him for his actions, but also understand the immense pain and suffering that led him down this dark path. In the end, Dartz is a tragic figure who was doomed from the moment he came into contact with the Orichalcos, and his story is one that resonates with themes of loss, corruption, and the tragic consequences of unchecked power. That's why he is my absolute favorite Yu-Gi-Oh character of all time!

First time hearing the japanese version of the SoO. I like it a lot. It looks like the English Dub wanted to go for a more dominating chanting over the original. Both tracks give me different feelings regarding the Egyptian Gods and the Seal of Orichalcos and I love it.
