While i agree with what he's saying, the system thats already been established isn't going anywhere. Everyone is too comfortable with it, and it benefits too many. Unless the new system is given a chance to work, we aren't going anywhere

If i had listened to this song when i was in middleschool i def would have agreed with light, and in some points i still do but, again he forgets the humanity of even criminals. Yes we have created a flawed system that needs to be reconstructed because it is NOT fair or equal due to the fact that their is inherent prejudice present based of race, gender identity or income status. But light is veru wrong here, we should NOT go back to black in white, i see he wants clarity but at the same time this means more of that prejudice and unfairness. It is important to ask “why did a individual murder’ while still respecting the hurt the victims are going through

Finally, the musical did what the anime and manga did not, giving a character a genuine interest in justice outside of the established norms of society. And shit I love it.

DUDE MAKE THIS A LIVE THING, TAKE MY GODDAMN MONEY. (i don't have money actually, but I NEED this in real life reenaction video, not just as a theatre performance, the transitions are SO GOOD - like the police officers in the street and the father closing the curtains, moving on to the "family" part, watching the TV and moving on to the "afraid to walk the streets" part. Just so, so well-structured, including camera angles, blocking, details like having the text written down in japanese... Really, i love this so much.)

@@WhatACleanWindowi think the moment someone kills or r someone they lose their right to live. what's childish about that view?
@xxchesire_catxx81764 ай бұрын
@MorbiusBlueBalls it’s childish because it’s not that simple. People kill for a bunch of different reasons, a lot of them being desperation or self defense. Battered Wife Syndrome is a very real thing. Does an abused partner who killed their spouse deserve to be executed when they fully believed their life was in danger? And in regards to your previous comment: we DON’T actually know if those people were actually guilty. Innocent people go to prison. Not to mention that not all prisoners even DESERVE death. A person who went to jail for breaking and entering where no one got hurt doesn’t deserve to get murdered by someone with a magic note book justifying his own god complex. This is also built off of the idea that most people in prisons are rapists and murderers and crime bosses, when in reality, very little murder cases are actually solved, rapists are extremely hard to convict, and police can be in the crime bosses pocket anyways. Those who are actually in prison are those with mental health problems, are drug addicts, or are people of color who are extensively over policed (at least in America anyway, though I don’t doubt it’s something similar in other places). Plus, Light literally kills FBI agents in the show?? Ofc there’s a lot to be said about the FBI being corrupt in its own ways, but characters like Raye Pember and Naomi were either just doing their jobs or trying to catch him and bring him to justice (hah). There are a lot of great points he makes in the song that come from a real, genuine wish to help, but the whole point of Death Note is that he took it too far.

@@MorbiusBlueBallsconsidering there’s a startling amount of people who we’re innocent but giving the guilty sentence and even death sentences then yeah it’s not that simple

Damn! Its not very hard (actually pretty easy) to imagine Light in a political setting. Look at how he got the whole class to sing in his favor. He's confident in his arguments and also openly willing to speak up (and manipulate his audience), then there's the megalomania & narcissism (traits commonly found in politicians). I can easily see him getting elected for whatever he signed for.
