Now that was a royal baby! The purest blue blood imaginable! Son of Julius Ceasar [presumably] and Cleopatra, the product of 300+ year-old dynasty that included Alexander the Great as one of his distant relatives! What a shame that he was killed. His parents were two of the most famous people who have ever lived. Imagine if he would have lived! The world might be different today.

IMO the most slept-on Medieval 2 Expansion and I honestly don't have an answer for why except we were all a bunch of edgy Medieval History small-brains who were too busy gooning with the Crusades expansion. That and nowadays there's mods for the same setting as this campaign that blow it out of the water, but I still had fun with it before I discovered modding.

Out of all the linguistic trouble of combining classical Syriac with Jewish Aramaic to try and fill in gaps for this rendering of Jesus’s language, I can’t believe they cheated this scene out. “Ego eana” is what was given in the line here, combining Greek with Aramaic. This is not what Jesus said. His words in saying “I AM” would’ve been the same words the Father said to Moses on Sinai “Ehyeh” or “Yehoh”.

@jackwooten2374

@@jaromsmiss He never spoke English. But his native tongue (galilean aramaic), he would’ve said either what God’s voice said to Moses on sinai “YHWH” or “Ehyeh”; or from the targums he might have said “Ana hu” which is what he said at the beginning of the film. They probably had Jim say “Ego eimi” from the greek. But trying to muddle it in with Aramaic gave a warped sound like they couldn’t decide what to say.

The soundtrack motif is also found for Finnish population results with Israeli DNA company MyHeritage. Apparently the earliest trace of this song I've been able to find is from a 2006 track called 'Kokkovirsi' by Gjallahorn, which is a medieval folk-style Swedish Finn band. Given that the Kingdoms expansion came out a year later in 2007, this seems to point to an older origin, either it was used as a clip from a sample library, or the Gjallahorn motif inspired Jeff van Dyck to compose his own version. Before digging into this, I personally used to consider this song was as British as it comes, now it seems to be more Finnish albeit Scandinavian-leaning, guess I'll settle for that.

@MrMcNeillNZ

Yeah that's true but there had to be a reason why Caesar kept him and Cleopatra as guests for two years in Rome? Maybe he just enjoyed her company, but i think that if he had truly believed that he had sired a son, he would definitely have been proud and made it known to his followers as well as changing his Will and testament to reflect his pride in having sired an heir. There was ample time for the Will to be adjusted for the change of heir status too but that didn't happen, I truly think that Cleopatra just had dreams of grandeur. The prospect of being Queen/Empress of Egypt and Rome would have been extremely attractive to any ambitious woman who could pull the strings in order to effect that change. She nearly succeeded too
@aaaaaahhhhhhhh
@aaaaaahhhhhhhh 7 ай бұрын
The young man didn't yet have the experience to do this, wasn't a government of his nature more interesting to leave him with the recognition of the Roman elite, leaving Cleo there for that long isn't it already a proof? Showing it publicly would lead to political intrigues of a possible threat to Rome and to those who sought his succession until then, since Caesar was not yet emperor, Caesar would fit into that position/king if they killed Caesar, as it was likely to happen to his son as well, for part of the politicians as well as anyone who assumes that having the advantage of age/Roman citizenship being the son of Caesar when he is dead in which would be the ideal scenario of usefulness of this condition of becoming king or something like that would only be negative considering that neither marco antonio could be told so far it would not be enough as everything indicates in which the story itself was not everything is about power in these cases
