I have been absolutely blown away with Naters projects and they have made me plan out and focus on a lot of the design elements of the game just as much as the actual game play

as someone who makes games using scratch, the moderation there is absolutely saddening. My games were being stolen left and right and it never mattered how much i and others reported. i stopped uploading games to scratch and now i only post them on gamejolt and that seems to work fantastic, i've also seen a steep increase in publicity for my games too. i say if the only engine you have the energy to learn is scratch its best to just use it as an engine and not a site to share what you make, also because if you share a project on scratch it immediately becomes owned by the scratch team to do whatever they want with so yeah not the best idea to upload games to the site in general.
