Your hand closest to the blade should not be there. That blade is way too far out to be safe. Setup a feather board or something.

With the NEW Nickel Coating, you don't have to worry about rust or damage from moisture or humidity!

@@HarveyIndustriesIntl It's not the router table I'm talking about, rather the router motor itself. In this video there is a lot of water running down the insert hole, presumably into the router below. I have a Compass top (not nickel) and my router lift an motor are completely exposed under the top, and the router top is open to cool it. Unless you've changed more than just the cladding, that router is going to get wet. I'm not suggesting the nickel is bad, just that your demo isn't truthful. BTW, what about a Coke (the universal solvent)? 😁

Actually that hardness test is really more of a toughness test. The proper way of measuring "hardness" for most metals is using the "Rockwell C" scale. But most importantly you cannot say that a different type of metal is harder than another unless you provide the exactly the type of "Metal compound" used and the surface treatment. (For example, was stainless steel are we talking 300 or 400 series and specify the heat or surface treatment?)
@kwilliams2239

What is "toughness"? Hardness is certainly important for a protective layer.

And here I am setting up my new cast iron table saw, router table, and bandsaw. :( (not that I'm really complaining, but it's like the computer industry - as soon as you buy something, a better one comes out)

I fell in love with woodturning several years ago but haven't had a good machine to work with. I'm saving my shekels for the Harvey Turbo T60 and am on track to purchase on December 1st! I can hardly wait. I've seen the machine at the warehouse and Montclair, and I thank Hung for showing me all about it and letting me run it for a bit. This is a well built machine that will be the last lathe that I'll ever need! Great job in the video, gentlemen.

Here's a tip to make installing the extension wing by yourself easier: Remove front and back rails from your table saw first. It's much much easier to set the extension in place without the rails getting in the way. Then install the legs to the extension wing. It's a lot easier to line up the bolts when the legs are supporting half the weight

I cringe whenever I see someone in these videos in a shop wearing only sandals. Steal toed boots are the best.
@kwilliams2239
@kwilliams2239 15 күн бұрын
Steel toed boots aren't always the answer. Steel crushes too. Crushed piggies have no hope of being reattached. Some industrial settings ban them. However, sandals have no business even being in a shop. Even something as normally as benign as a utility knife can ruin your day.
