Hello Grepow-Team, I‘m interested in your batteries. For a project of mine, I need a incredible small battery with ~20 mAH. Is there something that would fit? Can you maybe give me the Dimensions of your smallest battery? Thank you very much Steffen

Very good video. I was beginning to think high c rated batteries were just a marketing thing although I still do to some extent when talking about the same battery chemistry.

The ploymer battery will only last about a year. Whereas the Lithium-ion batter will last over two years. If manufacturers had to state the expected lifespan of their batteries, they would use only lithium-ion. Also, when ploymers are used in RC airplanes, manufacturers recommend changing in a metal box for safety.

You guys joking. Problems at low temperatures on earth? Now I know why most chemical and biological secret laboratories are only in Alaska, Antarctica, nobody at North pole. In Antarctica minus 60 Celsius, at north pole minus 80,nobody can survive there on earth. Really confused, big question now how we went to space, to moon where temperature is at least double minus 160 to minus 270 degrees Celsius. When try to come back fuel isn't frozen? Any rocket or engine don't burn fuel? To burn don't need air? Remember those engines in 70s kick started using crank loads of misfire, or pushed by people? Now I know why 70 years later nobody including AI goes back to explore hostile universe and planets.

Dear Zack. Thank you for the clear and detailed explanation! Just a question...when you said "After the reaction, a thin film forms on the surface of the electrode material where lithium ions can be embedded and removed freely while electrons cannot" are you talking about the SEI itself? or are you talking about the Lithium Plating? I heard that while the SEI is good for the cell, the lithium plating is a negative consequence of the misuse of it, mainle related to fast charge. Maybe I am missunderstanding the issue. If you can please clarify and/or indicate me some material to read about it will be great. I am electrician... not a chemistry... so plese forgive me if I am wrong...

Wait, so the lithium molecules are the "cars" of e- particles between the anode and the cathode? What makes the lithium to become stuck, and in what layer it became useless, "again, stuck"?

I hate how much you have to baby LiPo batteries... I just found a really nice laptop to buy & then I read that it has a LiPo battery, I just can't deal with having to be extra cautious about it going over 80%, especially since I use my laptop plugged in at home. *ps.* Are LiPo batteries more dangerous than Li-ion? I've read a bunch about their packaging being more fragile than Li-ion & if that packaging gets damaged it'll catch fire or spread chemicals.

I have a story to tell you! I storaged an iPad Mini 1 with 9% wear level at 2018 with 100% SoC and 254 Cycles. Now it's 2023 and the same battery, "only" 15.90% of wear at 80% SoC. I asssume the battery it's original. I have it since 2016. Edit: If I knew that before, storing it at 50/60% SoC, it would be even less! Here where I live is cold for more than 5 months per year, for about 2 to 9°C at night / 18°C inside home.

So 13.7. Is the charge rate. 13.4 shows you can take/ give a charge easily. 12.6 equals a battery at rest for its specific gravity/load of power equaling full. 1 ma= 1 minute = one amp. 12x12. Equals 144=14.4 full battery. At 77°. Core temperature./ Heat Signature knowen has radiation. Example battery Bank holding 80 amps, one amp per hour equals 80 hours. Then the battery is dead. 8 and 7 equal 15, 15.1 float charge. Which shows Celsius 3.1 degrees/ Celsius. Fahrenheit. Same difference. Just depends on how you want to look at it. Another example would be, cordless charger for your phone is a float charger. Whereas the cord is direct and must be unplugged. One piece warms the battery, the other Cooks It Out,... overcharge. I know same phone lithium battery 22 years old still working. I own a 5-year-old Android phone, same battery no problems with charge or holding charge. It is 12x12 on diagnostics. Meaning no degrading, same as new. If your phone gets hot while working with it put it in the freezer for 3 to 5 minutes cooling the core down it'll be fine.

Can you retry this with cylindrical cells? In pouch cells the distance between the electrodes increases and 'disable' the battery. But cylindrical cells keep the electrodes tight. Will they start forming pure lithium? Or explode?
