Thanks for sharing brother. Funnily enough my friend group and I are having Ace week this week so there has been a lot of brewing. It's very interesting to me that a lot of your conclusions about the meta and how to play into it are very similar to ours, but our list are wildly different. For reference, this is where we ended up: 2x Shanks 2x Whitebeard 3x Dragon 3x Ace 4x Marco 4x Jozu 4x Izo 4x Masked Deuce 4x Otama 2x Flame Emperor 2x Jet Pistol 2x You Could Nevet Defeat Me 2x Fire Fist 2x Gum-Gum King Kong Gatling 2x Fire Fist (RA) 2x Cross Fire 2x Seaquake 2x Radical Beam 2x Bad Manners Kick Course Naturally we have overlap on Izo (22 Targets) and Masked Deuce (23 Targets), but we dropped "Whitebeard Pirates" due to only having 17 targets after deciding to drop Blocker Marco (he feeels especially soft in a meta with Law, Bonney and Black. Will add back in post banlist to retest) Another interesting divergence point is the rush Luffy. It's the card against BY Luffy, but its meta share locally is small enough that Dragon was the pick in an open field. The major difference between the lists is obvious, ours is on 20 events. This mostly cane about due to the open nature of our locals. We range from meta to ST Saka. So the desire was to mazimize the effective interaction against the field. We've got all the usual poppers, but also 11 ways to adjust power proactively and 10 reactivity. The high event count also gives the deck something unique that most red decks don't have, 1 in 5 cards has a trigger that KOs something so we can actually get some play out of life. Absolutely agree with you on Shanks and Jet Pistol both add great ways to interact and Shanks really does laugh at Enel. Thanks for sharing. Glad to see some Ace love and definitely want to see some gameplay of your list.

Love seeing more people play Ace! Blocker marco is pretty bad into Law but it's sort of a necessity into some matchups. Thanks for sharing your list! Let me know how king kong gatling has been working out for you! I've had it on my radar

@@LaSpiderTCG Long time Ace fan myself. Been playing him on and off since 03. Spot on about Blocker. That was my thought and our local is rife with Law lol. 08 hits and I'm happily back on blocker. Kong Gatling has actually been very good in our testing sessions. The KO of trigger is 10/10, and the front half really feels like Amaru in the deck in that it makes clearing and KOing a lot easier. It's like a Makino that can buff anything and occasionally throws and extra 1k. The reach feels really good going Gatling into 7 cost ace too since you essential give the two targets -6000 and -4000 respectively if they have a 7K+. Which at the 9/10 don turn they usually do.

There are no good targets for it in this meta. You can definitely play one or two copies but the decklist is tight and I think the rest of the events are more value

@@LaSpiderTCG sabo, basil, kata, boa are all great targets and with otama you can ko every meta boss as you said yourself

Yeah but not being able to search otama hurts consistency pretty badly. Also not hitting sabo the turn it’s played is rough. The card is definitely good! But i just prefer running other topend cards and deckspace is limited. If you feel like you need flame emperor i’d play it over jet pistol or one seaquake/radical beam

Can you explain your thought process on deciding when to take damage in a game? Generally, I feel it's ok to take the first attack. But at what point would it be ok to take damage from a 5k swing, and when should I consider countering with a 2k or 1k during a 5k swing?
@LaSpiderTCG
@LaSpiderTCG 2 ай бұрын
Sure! I pretty much always take the first hit. This deck relies a lot on answering whatever your opponent plays and having extra cards in hand is very important to find your cost reducers and removal at the correct times. FIrst hit and in most matchups second hit you can take without worrying too much about it. The only decks you should be a little more scared to let the first hit go through are Yamato and RPLaw. For Yamato you only want to get hit if they are commiting their entire turn to hit you (like with an 8k or 9k swing). For RPLaw first hit is fine, but if your hand is good (like double eruption, sword, moria and rebecca) you can use your 1k or 2k counters for small swings even to defend first life. Any other deck I pretty much always take the first two lives and then only counter if I can only commit one card to defend. Knowing when to get hit and when you are supposed to counter is hard and really dependant on board state and what you have in hand, but generally speaking following this advice you are probably going to be ok in most cases

@@LaSpiderTCG Awesome thanks for the detailed explanation! another question would be if you have a brannew, tashigi, or rebecca in hand. Which would you prioritize pitching for 1k?
@LaSpiderTCG
@LaSpiderTCG 2 ай бұрын
@@BrianLee-wk3ph That depends a lot on the stage of the game. Early turns brannew is the best card on the deck because he can flip lucci, helmeppo and hina netting you a lot of advantage. Later in the game he gets worse because you need to find specific cards, which tashigi is better at doing. Rebecca also becomes amazing lategame because she can get back sabo for a 9 don double blocker turn to stall or just grab a kuzan/borsa from the trash to get your hand filled back up. TLDR: first two turns pitch rebecca for counter. Mid game probably pitch tashigi while your hand is still full but you are not at 10 don yet. Later in the game pitch brannew.

@@LaSpiderTCG WB and RP Law have favored matchups against Saka. So does RY Sabo.
@LaSpiderTCG

I haven’t played against RY Sabo all that much but I think you should beat RP Law and WB fairly consistently. If you can pull of one moria without dying it’s basically over. I find Sabo helps a lot in both matchups to help you filter for 2k counters and prevent them from consistently rushing you down

1st Is definitely correct my group tested that match a lot. Typically whoever goes first wins. Law bricks sometimes not seeing rushers and Saka steals the win in those games

If you’re going first and your only 4 drop is double finger, do you always play it? If so, what do you prioritize trashing for effect? Thanks!
@LaSpiderTCG
@LaSpiderTCG 5 ай бұрын
If it’s your only drop then yeah. The pressure of having an extra unit is pretty much always worth it, especially against enel and sakazuki. You should trash second copies of Kaido and Paulie and then it’s very hand dependant, but probably other no counter cards (repeated copies of miss all sunday, magellan)!

Without any restrictions for OP06 in europe, PLuffy will be really not worth playing. I consider myself a 4,5/5 Pluffy player and I can tell you; getting no support in OP06 while Saka is getting a searcher AND a new event, kata getting better cards and Gecko Moria is coming… bro. So sad actually. But great video and presentation tho!

How do you feel about going 2nd against saka and turboing into Kaido by T3 with miss all Sunday. I feel like it puts insane pressure on them, and basically forces them to see 2 ice ages, or dedicate 2 turns to trying to out it.
@LaSpiderTCG
@LaSpiderTCG 6 ай бұрын
I had a game yesterday where I did exactly that! It’s fine if you have good followup. I would only do it if kaido can kill something (like a kuzan or something) and you have decent followup (like ramping back up next turn with paulie or all sunday). It puts good pressure on them but you also have to commit a lot of your lives to leader ability so it can be a bit of a gamble

Thanks for the vid! Thoughts on O-Robi vs Uta / Zoro?
@LaSpiderTCG
@LaSpiderTCG 6 ай бұрын
It’s fine. I don’t really like it because you need 8 don already so it’s only good on your 9/10 don turn and at that point I think I’d rather have any of the blockers. It can help remove the 3 cost blocker Uta and it’s really good against Zoro, but I wouldn’t sacrifice any of the more important cards for it. If you really want to include it I’d swap out the blocker laws and if you want more copies I’d take out one or two miss all sunday
