Hallo! At the end the juries have the winner that THEY want.It does not matter at all what people vote.It does not make sense ,all the 12 to Nemo, there where so many good Songs and voice.They Shaw the battle between Croatia and Switzerland and gave 12 to Nemo and 5 or nothing to Croatia. Happens every year, I wonder why people vote. Good luck with your channel 🙂

Bravo Paloma.

I like your analytical view of the songs, I respect your opinion, but I have to say that if I overlook some, let's say interesting views, I can't ignore the fact that you put Wild Youth in the 9th place, it is one of the most generic, predictable unoriginal songs ever at Eurovision, and so high for you. And that you find a comparison with Coldplay, Bono...So I seriously ask myself how much music have you listened to in your life, I apologize if I'm rude, but seriously.
@JeremyAndrosoff
@JeremyAndrosoff Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for commenting! You don't sound rude at all, and I appreciate the conversation! Out of all of the songs on this list, even when I'm just in passing telling someone that I like Ireland's song this year, it seems to dredge up a lot of upset, which I find astoundingly odd. I TOTALLY understand that it's got a generic, predictable sound to it. But out of most of the boy bands especially in the contest this year, I really like this entry. Have you ever had a song that gets just roasted by a majority of people, but it gets stuck in your head and you can't help enjoying it nonetheless? There are a few reasons, I think, why it stands out to me. 1. As of today (March 20th) I am 40 years old. There's a sort of nostalgic air to the song in general, and for me, as a person, I tend to live in my memories. Remembering all of the good times I've had over the years to combat what has been a turbulent (ESPECIALLY 2022) few years in my life (for context I lost my dad and grandma within a month of each other, and have been dealing with an inguinal hernia since last May and am awaiting surgery for it, so it's really affected my day to day life.) So this song, as predictable as it may be, has a positive message which I love. 2. I am part of the LGBTQ community, and am a performer. I love anime (ESPECIALLY Sailor Moon), soap operas, Eurovision, the Sailor Moon Musicals, pop music, childhood cartoons, art and the paranormal. I *MIGHT BE A FREAK* resonates, but nowadays, a lot of that is "accepted" by society, which is awesome. This whole anti-drag rhetoric that is overtaking North America is absolutely ridiculous, and the rampant spouting of evil from figures such as the former US president, the current Russian president, and several other figures is vile and unhinged. This song, again, as generic as it is, has a positive message that is nice to hear, even if it isn't as tongue in cheek as say "Who The Hell Is Edgar?" or cleverly nuanced like "My Sister's Crown." At the end of the day, and as cheesy as it sounds, we are all one group of living organisms on this planet. I am exhausted, as I'm sure many others are, from the trivial wars going on, both physically in other countries, and LARGELY on social media, etc. This is a contest that was made to unite people, and have fun, and the constant bickering that goes on when there are so many more things to worry about in life, is absolutely astounding. On the opposite side of that coin, however, I absolutely love discussing Eurovision with people in general, because we all have a vast difference in musical opinions, and I love hearing from others as to why they enjoy certain entries over others. Again, it's all individual opinions, and everyone is absolutely welcome to theirs. I am not a big rock fan, and I really don't care for screamo and death metal myself, but there are many out there who do, and that's awesome. I really love taking time to watch other people's videos and rankings and commenting and conversing because it's fun, and there are not many people here in Canada (that I know anyways) who are even aware of what the Eurovision Song Contest is, and I think that's really sad. We will, however, have "Eurovision Canada" happening later this year, and from what I've heard, it's a vehicle to choose an act for Canada to make a debut in next year's Eurovision Song Contest, much like Australia and Israel have been allowed to compete, and let me tell you, if this is true, I am STOKED, I can't wait, and I'm looking at throwing my own hat into the ring with a potential song, but we'll see how things go. To comment on how much music I've listened to in my life, I have been a radio host for almost 18 years now for a show called "Animé-d in Japan 'Insanity on the Radio.'" This is a primarily Japanese music centric show, though I also tend to play songs relating to anime series dubbed into other languages (English, German, Korean, etc.) I have also been the host of "The Vision of Eurovision" for three years now, and have really been able to delve into many of the entries over the past 62 iterations of the contest. This has allowed me to be exposed to so much wonderful new music out there, and it's directly responsible for my obsession with the likes of Eimear Quinn, Eric Saade, Sergey Lasarev, Netta, Ruslana, Loreen and KEiiNO, among others. Prior to that, I grew up in a house hold where Pink Floyd, Céline Dion, Carly Simon, Barbara Streisand, Babyface, Michael Bolton, Rod Stewart, Shania Twain, Cher, Loreena McKennitt, AQUA, The Rednex, Fleetwood Mac, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Sarah Brightman, YES, Kraftwerk, Ann Murray and many, many more were played over the years, and I've loved them all. This year's National Finals introduced me to Patty Gurdy from Germany and JONE from Norway, and I love their styles as well. Japanese Music wise, my favourite artists are Ayumi Hamasaki, Utada Hikaru, lecca, Megumi Hayashibara, Most of the branches from the EXILE TRIBE groups, Gackt, Psycho Le Cému (the latter two being rock acts primarily, and while I'm not a fan of ALL of their stuff, I do like a good selection of their works,) Koda Kumi, and more! So while my musical influences and likes do tend to favour pop, I also LOVE Celtic, Operatic, Country and EDM. Further to that, I wish the UK would consider sending more Scottish or Wales influenced songs for future Eurovision entries. We've seen a lot of the other Countries delving deeply into their histories, and that's been so amazing to see. Look at France last year, sending a song sung entirely in Breton, as opposed to their usual French faire. Yes they didn't do so well at the contest, but I'd argue that was more due to the lackluster vocals at the live shows. The studio version is still one of my favourites to this day! Ireland could benefit from this as well. I LOVE "The Voice" by Eimear Quinn, and I miss the older days of Ireland sending that kind of Celtic style of entry. Okay, I'm so sorry for the very long novel of a response. I am so very grateful to everyone who watch my videos, and comment, and who are willing to have conversations :) It's fun. I also have great respect to all of the artists performing on the Eurovision Stage because that takes A LOT of work, and is the BEST opportunity EVER, ESPECIALLY this year since the whole world can be involved with voting as well, and the fact they're opening it up to a worldwide stage, is just amazing. While I may not enjoy every single song, as it's just not my taste, I still hope all of the performers have the best time, and give it their all :)

@@JeremyAndrosoff Thank you for your kind response and comprehensive explanation. Yes, I completely understand your point, you take the song and the message very personally and that's why it doesn't get out of your head. Yes, I sometimes have that feeling myself, I like a song, but many people find it stupid. It happens because music is very much connected with feelings and people have different feelings, different experiences, and therefore also different reactions to individual music. Despite everything, I have to say that Wild Youth have a very nice message, but maybe it's because of this nice message that I regret that it comes off as banal and cheap. And it is a shame that in the end this beautiful message will not reach the people. I must also say that this is the first time I've heard that Canada can join Eurovision next year, and that's a nice surprise. I like it. Eurovision is really one big musical thing, and why not, Canada could also be a nice plus for this event. I myself am very broad musically, I don't define genres when listening to music, because I think there are good musicians in all genres. This is also why I like Eurovision, where you have everything from rock, opera, to pop and ethnic and many other things in between. This is really fantastic. By the way, I'm from Slovenia, I don't know how well you know our representatives at Eurovision, but there is also a lot of Slovenian music outside of Eurovision, if you want to listen, for example Neisha (to begin with the song Vrhovi) and Siddharta (the song Ledena and Medrevesa). Greetings and a lot of love from sLOVEnia.

Israel "do it better" than UK?! SORRY, you're just SO Wrong and actually really annoy me with your Brit bashing!!
@JeremyAndrosoff
@JeremyAndrosoff Жыл бұрын
Thank you for watching and for replying; I do appreciate it :) I'm not bashing the UK. I just think that Israel and UK's songs are similar in some ways, but Israel's performance possibilities are better than the UK, especially with that dance break that Noa has in the song. Given last year's UK entry, it does kind of feel like they aren't pushing as hard this year, almost like they want to avoid hosting the contest again next year, and honestly, given the current state of the world and the inflation and financial issues everywhere, I don't blame them. From what I recall, Ireland was almost bankrupted back in the 90s with their triple win, then sans a year, and then win again! I would LOVE to see something with more Scottish or Wales influences in a future entry from the UK. Take chances. France did last year with "Fulenn," and yes, they didn't do great in the contest, but that was down to the actual live performance and the wonky vocal presentation. But in theory, and in the studio version, that song was FIRE, and singing in Breton was a really nice change from French or English. Many Countries are embracing more of their different cultures, and the results are very invigorating. It's breathing life back into the contest and that's wonderful! As for British entries, there are several I am a big fan of. I really like "I CAN" by BLUE (though I found them through a correlation of Duncan being on Hollyoaks, and I was super excited to see he was a part of Eurovision as well. I think the most well known UK entry here in North America is "Ooh Ah, (Just A Little Bit...)" as it was a staple dance song all over the radio here back when I was in high school. "Love Shine A Light" is nice too, and I honestly didn't know she was the same singer who performs "I'm Walking On Sunshine," (again another hit here in North America in the 90s.) As much as I'm not a fan of rap music, there's something endearing about Daz Sampson's "Teenage Life," and the following year's "Flying A Flag For You" is just PERFECTLY Eurovision. The over the top bizarre and fun ridiculousness of it is amazing. "Believe in Me" by Bonnie Tyler is nice as well, so is "Bigger Than Us." I also really like "Children of the Universe," as it's very unique and has a very indigenous feel to it. I can't really help my tastes in music, it's just a part of me, as yours are part of you. There are some songs that just draw me to them much more than others. It has nothing to do with bashing any Country at all. As you can see above there are quite a few I quite enjoy from over the years dating back to the 90s, but you'll note it's been the more recent ones that aren't as high on my personal liking list. I just feel Mae Muller's entry isn't that strong, and I would have liked to have seen Rina Sawayama have had a shot at it this year, much like I preferred Patty Gurdy over Lord of the Lost for Germany. All different musical tastes, because if we all had the same tastes, it would be quite boring lol.
