Gran baladista e icono de la música folklórica de u.s.a, siempre te recordaremos the Gambler,

Fun fact: After filming this sketch, Kenny Rogers and the puppeteer of the Gambler (I know his name but I don't want to disparage the dead) would never be seen on the Muppet Show set ever again. While we all love this sketch and revel in the nostalgia, for at least 20 years this was considered the absolute bottom of the barrel, worst sketch of the entire run of the show. For example, pay close attention to the gambler's hands and you might notice there's something weird about them. When someone at the Creature Shop needed an ego check, they would sit them down and tell them about what went down behind the scenes of "The Gambler". The act of receiving this ego check was even named after the guy. It was such a sh!t show behind the scenes, the director/Gambler puppeteer got fired from the show (not Jim Henson Productions). Kenny Rogers canceled his appearance on Sesame Street because he hated that guy so much and would have had to have worked with him there. Even when he and Dolly Parton were invited to sing Islands in the Stream years later, Kenny said, "Hell no! And you can tell J***** I said so."

We have a copy of Kenny Rogers-Hasse Kvinnaböske Andersson.... Not a coincidence because N England was invaded by people from old Eastern Denmark-Skåne etc.., when Sweyn and Canute reconquered England in 11th c.. When skånish people talk english it sounds like the southern drawl...

I'm not even going to talk about what other people are talking about, the alcohol and the smoking on a putative kid's show... can we talk about the fact that this kids show had a character DIE and become a GHOST as part of the song? THAT'S what stuck with me.

Despite His Most Popular Song, Rogers Never Did Much Gambling. Rogers' most popular song is arguably his 1978 release "The Gambler," but in 2015, he told NPR that he'd never been a big gambler himself. "I learned a long time ago, I can't win enough money to excite me, but I can lose enough to depress me," he admitted.

Such a beautiful episode. The Muppet show was the latest TV that my grandmother allowed me to watch before bed and then my granddad would let me sneak watch Benny Hill. Mr. Kenny Rogers will be missed. 💞
