6:25 mausoleum secrets, (Undergrowth - Search your library for a black card with mana value less than or equal to the number of creature cards in your graveyard, reveal it, put it into your hand, then shuffle.) Only there is a creature in the cemetery, which is Kroxa, so you wouldn't be able to look for the correct Unmarked Grave?

Cool games and decks. I'm always a sucker for mono-coloured commanders and seeing how people work around what I consider to be a handicap given how easy it is to splash in eternal formats. There's a player at my LGS who uses Eluge as a commander for a merfolk tempo deck that focuses more heavily on messing with opponents' land types, as far as I know he's never come in first but the games are always fun to watch with lots of neat little interactions and synergies. EDIT: Just to be clear, I'm talking about 4 player commander, my LGS doesn't really have enough duel commander players for tournaments to fire consistently. As such, I don't have enough experience in the format outside of a few videos I've watched to confidently comment on deck/card choices. That being said, given that merfolk used to be a pretty decent deck in legacy and modern, I can't imagine it would be absolute trash in duel commander.

Very nice game!You guys have the best channel for DC and one of the best MTG content, keep going! I've fallen in love with the Lara deck, which is your opinion on a competitive level? I heard that you played it on a tournament, how it was? Do you recommend it if I want to start playing DC and not going for a meta deck? thaaank you!

That's a big compliment, glad to hear that! I did play Lara in 2 events actually, ended up T16 both times :/ As I'm a big fan of Temur, I thought Lara makes a decent commander. It's a classic midrange deck, you play a few synergy cards and the rest is purely goodstuff. Are you rather looking for THE best deck, or you prefer to play a specific commander/colour-combo?
@Linketzad
@Linketzad 3 күн бұрын
Big temur fan here as well. I really enjoy playing temur or bant/naya. Instead of going for the best deck, I think I'd rather go for the color combination I'm most comfortable with. That's why I had thought of Lara.

Hallo Community! I love the videos. Duel Commander has become really popular at my LGS. My friends know I work as a German teacher so when they told me about a duel commander channel from some German creators, I found you guys and immediately subscribed 🧡. I use Magic as a teaching tool in my classroom and we just started a Magic club at my school. Keep up the awesome work! P.s. I think that the playmat used in these videos is so cool! I audibly gasped when I saw that it has the words “Elsaß-Lothringen” printed on it! Who manufactured the mat? Is there a way I could purchase one of those mats? 👀 Thanks!

@@bitzelberg No, I do mean Ghyrson. You guys discussed that you don't really like the spell itself, except for Aminatou and Raffine decks, where it synergizes. So I am saying (from my experience) that a surprise bunch of 1/1 fliers that could each hit for 3 with Ghyrson on the board as well as potential redraw for better spells is also a decent shell for Occult Epiphany. Malcolm is presumably a better U/R deck than Ghyrson in the meta though.

Hey, Acererak player from the game here. I love this game for showing how hard the matchup is and how you need the right interactions for it. It's the perfect example of how having everything your deck want except for the cards you have to get in the matchup isn't working. Usually, the way you handle the matchup is either you disrupt them enough and bait counterspells to either racing with the combo (which is harder to make work) or sticking a Necro Enchantment. By experience, these give a draw engine on par with what Atraxa decks can do, and single-handedly evens the matchup. The reason I didn't get it was either I could race the combo (I think I had both halves of it in my starting hand and drew another piece in the first draw step), or the tutor spell got countered. You really want more discard against an Atraxa deck, but instead you can get the removals that are good for aggressive matchups, but not here. (Also : you did get right the reasoning behind the name of the deck Las Ketchup ^^ I was supposed to have themed sleeves but had to switch them last minute before tournament because of issues)

9:15 What was the plan in the first place here? If you have Thrasios and infinite green mana, it draws your deck but there is Sheoldred in play that kills you in the process. Considering with 6 life you only get 2 draws tops without dying, and afaik there is no way to mitigate the lifeloss or win the game at instant speed, it would not have mattered.

Thanks for the video! Im interested in building a thrasios combo list myself and I was wondering some things about the list. What do you think about running the natuko and shuko? Also steelshapers gift vs open the armoury, (swift reconfiguration too important?)
@bitzelberg
@bitzelberg 26 күн бұрын
Good point - the think about Nantuko (in addition to Sylvan Safekeeper) that you have a "close-to" deterministic win with Nadu. Since I don't like either of 'em as solo-pieces, and I don't think it's necessary to go for deterministic Nadu lines, I don't like to play them. Shuko is not a great card, I like Greaves better as it also supports Devoted combos OR in this list, gives you a hasty Bruse :) Regarding the aura/equip tutor: Open the Armory allows for Spellseeker lines, and YES Swift is the only reason I'm NOT running Steelshapers ;)

Hello i was the Marath player I rewrite my com, looks like youtube dont like i put the link of my decklist. The video was very interesting, some mistake was made but hard to see in game. About Black panther i have the impress of a second commander in the deck, a little bit slower but wich grind well. And as u say i play a counters matter version who up the efficiency of him. About the pyrokynesis he dont have a good spot for cast it. With the 2 rabbits if he have 3 targets (2 rabbits and an other) i have 6 trigger with counter before damage If he have 2 targets i got 4 triggers and he kill nothing aswell And if he have 1 target i got 2 trigger for maitain pressure and he make a 1 for 2 About the Marath activation at 25:35 You have the heuristics as a Marath player to make it 1 by 1 because most cases its better. That was a rare case like against Leovold or Nadu wich is better to pay more than 1 I think it was normal for some players to forget the capacity of Marath was an X and not an 1. About the token energy you are wright its from a Fallout commander deck. And i am glad you like the colour of the energy sleeve, i made a great case to have if possible all tokens for my decks with a sleeve in relevance for a better reading of the boardstate. In video its was cool but in normal matches too. Thank for the players at the LTC 8, the judge and the staff. And thank to you for the job on this channel, i hope we see you again at some tournaments in Alsace. PS : I hope the replay with your Thrasios/Bruce come soon, gg again for the top. Brise
