Brilliant that you have this historic event saved for posterity..I remember my local church (Aberdulais Baptist Church) having to be demolished to make way for the dual carriageway. Had to happen but sad as my late father had painted a very large mural of the Crucifiction scene above the pulpit which was beautiful..😢

Hi your drone footage is really good. I live in Australia but I was born and grew up in Glynneath . I'm 67 , my parents emigrated to Australia in 1966. I visited there with my daughter in 2012. Your footage brought back wonderful memories of my time there. Are you aware of any other footage drone or otherwise of Glynneath either by yourself or others? I'm not on Social media, just KZbin at this stage. I would love it if I could connect with my village of Glynneath somehow.

Amazing, diolch. I've been reading about Aberpergwm because my great, great grandfather was a shepherd on the estate. When was the footage filmed?

I would say about 1965'ish. My Granparents took the video, if you look closely you can see 2 boy's crossing the field, one of them is me.

I hope those windows at least were preserved. If it was anywhere else the National Trust would have bought it and it could have been saved for the nation. Corporate vandalism is right - heartbreaking.

I wondered that myself, but I don't know the answer to the that.

@@roybowen2329 I can't remember the number of my shop but before we moved to that shop opposite the cost cutter my grandfather and my dad had the fruit and veg in cyber cafe when I was a kid next door to the old video shop Mels. I miss the good old days

Thank you for making this available Roy. I like the extra notations you've added that must have taken a lot of research. I shot this over three days on Super-8mm film. I still have the original footage which looks much sharper and more colourful than the dvd transfer. Because the sound is on two tracks on each side of the film, only one company was able to transfer the film to dvd to include the full soundtrack so I had to accept the lower quality to get a copy. I showed the original film in the Scout Hall on a 7ft screen back in February 2020 just weeks before the first lockdown.

Heaven above is softer blue Earth around is sweeter green Something lives in every view Christless eyes have never seen. Moved to Rhyddings 1976 and often spend hours walking in the country side. As creation is not an accident of big bang. I knew that life had purpose and profound meaning Yet only suffering has any value, if hope is still manifest, even mental illness isn't something to wish on folk, Love that asks nothing in return, unconditional acceptence honours the greatest sacrifice, Many ordinary heroes make up humanity. Who dismisses eternal truth is not wise, and here's a prodigal and periodically selfish guy who thanks folk for being understanding when life has been too demanding! Lonlas Gospel Mission. Was instrumental in my sanity restored, and those unseen prayer warriors who pursue breakthrough!

Poignant footage. What happened to this magnificent house was an absolute tragedy. Corporate vandalism.

Your right it was such a waste, probably cost to much to maintain the building. The grounds themselves were magnificent.
