Some basic hand held rip saws are light, easy to carry, and would help for everything but the biggest tree trunks. I have buddies that work the trails in our local National Forest that have chain saw holders on their dirt bikes for clearing the trails after storms. Hate to see that much damage though, but it looked like the roads themselves weren't torn up too badly. Looked like fun.

Does big sky ever have fresh snow lol always a cheese grater. It’s not even fun it’s mostly just scary. Big runs lots of no fall zones.

My visit last March we got a consistent 2-3 inches every night but no huge dumps. It made firehole and all the other steep terrain nice and soft, regardless of already being tracked out

Good for you to challenge yourself! You probably know this, and it is better to take less adrenaline pumping runs to get your technique improved a little. I am sure it has a good pitch but it does not look like any big deal. Just face down the fall line and let your skies do their job. I have a feeling you were pretty far outside your comfort zone. Looks like a beautiful run. If this is a triple black what is Corbets? Or S&S at Jackson.
@TheArchiveOfWonder Жыл бұрын
These are much more dangerous than Corbets, they are extremely steep and exposed and if you fall you are going down quite a long ways. And SS isn't really a marked run that people are allowed to do so it's not exactly relevant.

the slope and exposure of the terrain while skiing are consistent with double blacks at other resorts. I think it is the exposure you have during the hike that made the resort call it a 'triple'
@brianonnela81868 ай бұрын
And lots of rocks makes it more dangerous, thus triple as apposed to double.
@cvn6555 Жыл бұрын
Can't believe that this is anything more than a double and hardly a double at that. The existence of "Triple Black Diamonds" is ridiculous. If it is that tough, you indicate it is a double and put the "EX" or skull and crossbones. Otherwise the race will be on to have a trail with 4 then 5 diamonds. Nobody wants or needs that. Awful trail to get to that run. Don't think I would go to that trouble.

@@princegtag800 Most of these western ski areas have so much terrain that I never feel the need to hike. Seems like a lot more work than is necessary. Probably has to do with being old.

@@cvn6555 totally agree. when i get the chance to go out west i'm not wasting time hiking around when there is plenty of great terrain with nice snow in front of me. i see people hiking for hours to access certain parts of the bowl that does not appear significantly better than what is more easily accessible.

Triple black makes sense to me, but theres a lot of lines you can take once you cross that warning sign at big sky that really arent that hard, double black maybe, definitely some that register more like just a black. I think they do for posterities sake. But thats not comepletely true for all the runs. I used to live literally just north of big sky and man there are some mean runs. My favorite is up there actually, Hell Roaring, its actually not that bad, I think its nice if the weather is right. Gutterball scares the hell out of me bc its less skiing and more "hey Im gonna jump off this cliff real quick to get to that bunny slope at the bottom" idk you're not horribly off but theres definitely some wayyy meaner runs at big sky. In true Montana fashion they wanna see if you can survive the fucking hike up there first 😂

Sorry I couldn't give a thumb's up: the images are great, the info... Not so much. The Tower of Hercules wasn't converted to a lighthouse, it was one since Roman times -archaeologists have even found parts of the oil lamp that would have been used by then. Thus it is the oldest lighthouse in the World, and UNESCO World Heritage. Second, the church you named as San Nicolas is actually San Jorge (San Nicolas is another one). Sir John Moore never saved Coruna, he died while covering the retreat of the British army, but finally Napoleon troops got in. Finally, the gardens are named after Spanish Almiral Mendez Nunez.
