Lol Jinjer is ukrainian proggy djent groove metal with complex time-signature maze, polyrhythms and multi-genre blending. They are one of the most talented 4-pieces and Tati is one of the best overall metal vocalists and lyricists in the business. Jinjer - Pisces (Live Session) Jinjer - Perennial (Live At Wacken 2019) Jinjer - Pit of Consciousness (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - On The Top (Live in Kiev) Jinjer - Who Is Gonna Be The One (Official Live) Jinjer - Judgement & Punishment (Tatiana One Take Vocal) Jinjer - Teacher Teacher (Official Video) Jinjer - Captain Clock (Live at Resurrection Fest 2018) Jinjer - Cloud Factory (Official Video) Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy (Official Video) Jinjer - Vortex (Official Video)

Tatiana can switch back and forth at will even within a vocal line. it's amazing to watch. A good live example of that would be their video Sit Stay Roll Over Live in Melbourne. There's a pretty large catalog of those but that one is a good example.
@hemlock3995 сағат бұрын
BTW, they do engage in sparing use of backing tracks during live performances for things like vocal harmonies. Subbed.

The things you chose to comment on lead me to believe that you're going to *love* Jinjer. Perhaps they can win you over to harsh vocals, as they won me over. Most Jinjer songs have a mix of vocal styles, and Tati is the *most* versatile vocalist in metal, maybe in music, period. Jinjer excels at taking the listener on an unpredictable journey characterised by dissonant and unpredictable chord progressions, unconventional timings, rhythms and song structures, virtuosic performances by all members of the band while always serving the song. They do all that, consistently from one song to the next, while very rarely exceeding 5 minutes song length. I've only heard this song a few times so far, and what stands out to me the most are guitarist Roman's hypersonic tremolo picking near the beginning and Tati's emotive vocal style in the outro. Great song! I agree with the other commenter who recommended the video Audiotree | From Nothing. It's a brief, interesting and entertaining crash-course on Jinjer through the band's own words and live studio performances of 3 great tracks from their 2021 Wallflowers album ("Vortex", "Wallflower" and "Dead Hands Feel No Pain"). The live performances are *awesome,* and their discussions give you a good sense of their history, relationships with each other and their attitudes about their art. It's about 24 minutes long, but well worth a reaction.

Jinjer might be the band that writes the shortest progressive songs in the world. It was a little odd that you met them through this song, but oh well. It doesn't matter where you started from. You can continue your journey with the Pisces Live session video that made them famous. If you're curious about how they are live on stage, I recommend Perennial 2019 Wacken, On The Top 2020 Kyiv. More recently, 2023 Wacken Live recording(3 songs) and a studio session on Audiotree Channel. The channel made a special program for introducing them. It includes short interviews and 3 live songs. Vortex is the first song in both and has a lot of clean-harsh vocal transitions. Minimum post-production. By the way, i recently saw. Mike Portnoy from Dream Theater put the band's previous 2021 and 2019 albums in top ten albums of the year category in his social media posts that time. Mainly because of the drummer (some Jinjer songs can be complex even for Dream Theater :))

This could be quite the rabbithole if you wanted it to be. Jinjer really are doing their own thing and the sound is always evolving. Jinjer is best viewed on stage, so find some of their live performances. I suggets Pit of Consciousness live in Kiev, Captain Clock at Resurrection fest 2018, Who is going to be the one official live. We call the musical diversity they display - Jinjer doing Jinjer things. 🤘

thanx for your reaction on a world class band............ If you are interested in Jinjer you will be on a never ending musical journey.......... but please never compare Jinjer with Nightwish, IMO that would be musically like trying to teach an elephant to fly....... You can't compare Jinjer with any other band, Jinjer doing Jinjer things........... warm greetings from the german musician

I'd say it makes sense to compare Jinjer to other bands. Some similarities here and there are present indeed (even Eugene says that sometimes he borrows some pieces of music). And it's natural when one great band is inspired by the music of other great bands. But yeah, there is nothing in common between Jinjer and Nightwish. Except the fact both bands are kinda metal and have a frontwoman as a singer.

6:26 the rhythm here actually mirrors the strumming from the bossa nova/ elevator music sample! Subtle and clever by them :) Greetings from one of the club scene extras - it was actually a giant former coal processing plant, a UNESCO world heritage site(„Essener Zollverein“) and can confirm we were all signing along after just the first of 200 repetitions that day 😂

0:03. 3 words: Free music education. All paid with taxes. Anyone who wants to learn how to play an instruments can do so. Also things like rehersal spaces and such are subsidized. Sadly with our new right wing government they are shutting down those free music schools and rehersal places. So who knows how it will be in a couple of years. And Sebastian Murphy turns 35 in march this year.

Yeah! And not only music, kulturskolan (the culture scool) has anything from musical instrument, to art, to dance to theather and so on. Where kids up to 18 can go after school. ”Lös” quite simply translates to “loose”. The man has the word “loose” tattooed in bold letters on his forehead. It’s especially bold in Swedish. The swedish word “lös” might have more flexible connotations than it has in English. He’s just out here, doing and saying whatever he feels like, not committed to any “cause”. He’s loose.

I really like this band and I wish they made more songs like Panic attack cause it's instantly catchy, it has high aura or motif whatever you call it. Great video!

I don't think the idea was for it to be a single take, it was clear to me that they had to jump cut the actual captured footage to the footage running on the phones a few times, but the spectacle of them doing the rest of the video practically, overshadowed any small issues might have had. I also love the layered vocals near the end, making the song sound chaotic, and then smoothing out to the "We will all be fine" and the visuals complementing that with the face getting an almost Interlaced look while its chaos, and it joining back together for the calm part.
