Yes, obviously there are quality control issues with parts and assembly on some batches. The crank rod snapped on one end of mine, after a few weeks with only light intermittent use. So I am just trying to convert it to single cylinder as I cannot claim warranty because I live in SE Asia

Hey bro not judging but the first snapper u caught looked way under size to me. You know you need to measure from the shortest point of tail not longest. If you don't know now you do if you get stopped by fisheries you may get a big fine.

Thanks Richard, he is experienced and has caught monsters up and down the coastline., especially in this area. It has a lot of the big ones and he actually dropped one that was closer to that meter mark and I couldn't get over to give him a hand as I was onto a fish as well. I personally haven't seen a snapper of that calibre and it was really good to see that there in such good health and plenty of them.

Thanks Richard for tuning in. For that price I would have got a completely sealed Van Staal.
@reeltomeal11 ай бұрын
Nothing wrong with your choice there however, for under $1000, the Authority represents a long term quality reel that will easily tackle bigger fish. The Van has some good internals, though you'll be paying a bit more and not getting as much drag power in this size category. Something to note too ,is the anti reverse on the Van's have their issues and are known to be a bit more clunky on the wind, if you read the reviews. Tight lines 🎣
