I vaguely remember dining at KELSEY'S Years Ago. I was Very DISAPPOINTED on my Visit to Kelsey's on Saturday, April 24, 2021. 1st we were Seated near a Group in a Booth/Table... Which was Fine. About 2 Mins pass and We were immediately escorted to a Round Table (2nd in) near the Window & DJ Booth (they said our Original Seats were Reserved).. I asked if we could be seated across from the RoundTable at the TableBooth & was told it was Reserved. (I'm thinking it must be COVID Social Distancing Reserved... until Later... See Below). The Atmosphere seemed Nice and the DJ Booth was Electronically Playing ALL of My Jams. Seemed Pleasant. 😍 After being Blessed in the Restroom by a Youth Minister named Kema from NJ with a Powerful Prayer we returned to our RoundTable and ordered our drinks (IcedTea/Lemonade & Water) and our Meals. My Appetizer was EXTREMELY OVER-RATED. Bang-Bang Shrimp ($10.99) Forgive Me for Expecting Prawns or At Least a 'Seafood Connection' Med-Large Shrimp. I was Expecting at Least 3-4 Nice Bite-Sized Shrimp. INSTEAD 👀 They Presented these Tiny Infant Newborn Shrimp (I buy in a Can and Smash into my Tuna Salad under $5) with a Glistening of Some Sweet Glaze... Over a bed of Dry Shredded Lettuce. WHAT KINDA MESS. Next, as we're eating/Scrutinizing this Bang Bang Get A Gun and Shoot the Chef Shrimp... They Seat a Woman & Three (3) glasses of Water at the 1st Round Table Right Next to Us, indicating Two (2) others would Join her. I'm wondering about Social Distance Laws??? Finally, I get the Attention of the Waitress and ask Why they seated Someone Right next to Us (after the two Diners arrive). Shouldn't there be an Empty table between us? We were Moved AGAIN to the Next RoundTable (3rd of 4th) in the Row. Next... they Bring our Meals I ordered the Crab cakes, Cabbage, BlackEyed Peas & Rice. The BP&R Taste Like DIABETES ON A PLATE. It was Too Salty and the Cabbage was OverCooked (Surprising for a Restaurant that opens at 4pm. We arrived about 3:45p... Doors Opened CPT @ 4:10-4:15p) ANYWHO... The two (2) Small-Medium Sized Crab Cakes were Dry & Bland. Where's the Flavor? They Should have taken some Salt from those BP's 🤔 I was about to mix the Cabbage with the BP&R to Cut the Salty Flavor and They SEAT ANOTHER GROUP (4-5) DIRECTLY ACROSS from Us. The Man Stands in the "Walking Room Only" Aisle Right Over Top of my Sis and Begins Talking Over Our Table with NO MASK ON. ARE YOU SERIOUS??? I Kept My Religious Composure THANK GOD. Waited AGAIN for the Waiter/Waitress to Return. After Asking Why They did NOT Seat Them at the Other End of the BoothTable for Social Distancing Purposes... They Apologized and Asked if WE WANTED TO MOVE DOWN TO THE 4TH ROUNDTABLE. LIVIDLY COMPOSED, I ASKED FOR A CONTAINER TO PACK UP MY DIABETES ON A PLATE!!! WHY SHOULD WE KEEP MOVING? We Underwhelming Paid the $70 Bill & Left... CashTip in Hand. But I Did Provide a Few COVID Etiquette TIPs for the Staff at the Door before Exiting. I Should have Given them the To-Go Platter and Kept my $40. Aunt B's Kitchen has Better CrabCakes. Larger, Flavorful & WORTH EVERY PENNY! Also Reminds me that I'm Missing Maria's Stuffed Fish/Crab Platter. Worth EVERY PENNY! I wasn't given a Receipt Either. Different Strokes for Different Folks. It's Like God was Sending Me Signals though. My Sis kept Asking me if I wanted to Stay/Wait for Them to Open the Doors, or go to Longhorn, as we stood in Line... I said, "No, Let's Stay, we're here now & paid for Parking. You said we were going to Kelsey's and we're Here. I'll Try It." The Couple Seated across from us Congratulated me for Standing My Ground. "You're Right", they told us as we Exited the Seating Area. RATINGS: Entertainment: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Service: 😡 (Our Waitress was Nice - Waiters need Training) Food: 🤔 Lose the Salt FINAL THOUGHTS: 1) We tried Calling KELSEY'S to Voice Our Opinion since the Staff seemed Uninterested. The Recorded Message States ... Not Taking Reservations (Well, Who were our Seats Reserved for? Why were we Moved 2-3 Times... My 3rd Move was Out The Door. We were Eating... Trying to Eat, And Instead of Moving the Folk You Just Seated, You Inconvenience Us by Making Us Move our Drinks, Silverware, Food, Belongings, etc...) UNPROFESSIONAL to say the Least 2) Almost Everyone in our Seating Area had Difficulty Scanning the 'TableBarCodePatchMenu' to Their CellPhones. I Googled your Restaurant. With those Prices, you could at Least Provide Paper Menus during COVID. Trying to Google your Menu was Disturbing & Difficult to Read. Not Cell-Phone Friendly At All. Two Waiters and a Waitress trying to Assist each Party in Accessing Your On-Line Menu. RIDICULOUS! OVER-RATED! (2.5-3 Stars at Best) OVER-PRICED! ($11 House Salad with No Meat?) NEVER AGAIN. #LeftKelseysHANGRY
