I LOVE the NEW CHURCH! And your videos should be getting more views!! Are you using the BEST tag words in each video, words that Christians search for? It’s extremely important. Because I know for instance , PHILISTINES, is a very hot topic! And many others that your videos beautifully explain. Some other very hot topics are Red Heifer, Euphrates river drying up, just oh so many words that are searched for the most. Anyway, you may want to just search for those words on KZbin, and see the thousands and more views on the subjects you teach so beautifully and rationally!! The literalists have everyone in fear, that they are signs of the end of the world!! Insane! Just wanted to mention this because I don’t know if that may be why you don’t have many views!! Maybe not mention Sw on videos yet. Just a few ideas. Your sermons are ALL so beautiful and life changing!! The world needs it!! Blessings!! ❤️

A beautiful sermon! But you didn't include the lessons, and this sermon - like all sermons in the traditional General Church style - wasn't written to stand alone without them. He's immediately referencing things he's just read to the congregation, but they aren't there. I could guess at some of the scriptures and numbers he'd read, but that's because I've grown up on sermons like these. So I stopped watching this on KZbin, and went hunting for the full service -- and, by the way, since that was enough of a pain to me, I think it would be daunting to someone unused to the order of service in the Cathedral to find the few minutes of lessons among about 40 minutes of music and prayer, to find the part this sermon was referring to. If you're already sticking the sermon into a video editor so you can cut the sermon out from all the extra music and order of service, it really should be only a matter of a minute or two longer to include the lessons as well. If you're trying to streamline the service to make the meat of it more accessible to people, please don't leave the readings from scripture out: they're not optional to a sermon the way the music or order of service is. You can always time stamp the sermon if you want people to be able to skip the lessons. Thanks!

Great idea! They are now in the description, and I'll paste them here as well: The WEIRDest People in the World: How the West Became Psychologically Peculiar and Particularly Prosperous by Joseph Henrich (Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 2020) A Time to Build: From Family and Community to Congress and the Campus, How Recommitting to Our Institutions Can Revive the American Dream by Yuval Levin (Basic Books, 2020).

The concept of American "community" has been under attack for decades. The collective must be dismantled because it interferes with maximizing shareholder value.

The idea that institutions exist to shape people, rather than because people are spending their resources and life energies building them to serve their various needs, is backwards, or at least fails to acknowledge that there are human beings at the core of every institution, making human decisions about how the institution functions and what impact it will attempt to have on people and in the world based on their own wants and needs. Institutions absolutely *do* need to work to improve themselves on an ongoing basis, if those who run them wish for them to exist into the future! The military has done its part these days to give their recruits sensitivity training against racism, sexism, homophobia and transphobia so that diverse people can work together. Many traditional churches have not done what they need to, to step up in this area. Each generation chooses which institutions will carry forward into the future by what they put their participation and life energy into. People participate usually because the institutions they choose solve some need for them, whether that need be something spiritual/altruistic ("I want to feel like I am making a difference,") or something social ("I want to hang out with my friends and do a hobby") or something basic ("I need a job so I can earn money and support myself.") Telling people , "Get over yourself!" is unlikely to get anyone-- particularly WEIRD Americans--in the door. Having something that is a little (or a lot) better than the other available options to meet that specific need, will.

This is the most beautiful rendition of the musical Lord's Prayer I've ever heard. I especially love this being sung by a congregation at the close of a service ❤ So powerful!!
