That connection request message does not work. " I am impressed by your company's growth... blah blah blah. It's clearly fake flattery and people can see right through it.
@IvanLeens3 ай бұрын
Works for me, maybe because I am targeting companies that really grew recently. It has to be true and make sense obviously. And from my experience, your connection request message is not that important as long as you don’t try to sell and don’t ask anything. I am curious, what do you use ?

Hi Ivan! Hope you're doing well! I needed some insight on how to calculate the pay rate markup and Bill rate.. Ex. My client pays their workers a $25.00 pay rate. How can I figure out what I am going to build them and what markup?? If you have an easy method to figure all three out would be fantastic! We just started our recruiting/staffing co and looking for effective shortcuts
@IvanLeens4 ай бұрын
Difficult to answer without more context and info. If you go with a mark up and considering it’s probably a volume market with such a low pay rate, I would apply a 20% mark up (30$) but again there are many other factors to consider to make sure it’s viable such as contract duration, volume, how niche and difficult to find those profile are, market standards, etc

Great video! Just starting off moving from contingency to exclusive and retained, do you have a guide on how much to charge as a retainer and how often?
@IvanLeens5 ай бұрын
Hi Page, you usually split it in three. You calculate your fee based on the client budget for the role and then they pay a third for you to start the search, another third when you plan interviews and the last part when the candidate starts. But it depends on you
@theagencygirl5 ай бұрын
@@IvanLeens Ok, i am going to try this approach with my current clients which are all on contingency, will this work and any tips how i can jump from one to another?
@IvanLeens5 ай бұрын
@@theagencygirl I would tell them that you started with contigency to prove your value but that you usually work on retainers (for the reasons explained on the video). Ask open questions then (how they feel about it, if they already worked that way, etc)

Really good video and well summarised. A lot of energy and work can be put into things that for reasons out of your control lead to nothing. This can be also particularly hard when you are a solo recruiter and you have to pick yourself up and go again.
@IvanLeens6 ай бұрын
Exactly, that's why it's important to be part of a community even when you are a solo recruiter. Many don't see the added value to networking with "competitors" and that's a mindset we need to change

Good strategy overall, but then again you limit the types of opportunities you can offer candidates. Plus MPC (most placeable candidate) marketing flies out the door. The ideal mix is what you say for 50% of your business then 50% of new clients and continual driving new business. Sorry there is not easy way out in recruiting, relying on a few clients is good business but wont take you to a million and above.
@IvanLeens8 ай бұрын
Indeed you mentioned something very important here, you cannot put all your eggs in the same basket and rely on the same clients forever. You should always try to renew and get new clients. Keeping a balance is key. But you can definitely make a million with only a few clients and I actually know nobody making a million spreading themselves across 15-20 clients (unless you have a team)
