Was quite surprised to see that the "Our Best Christmas' is actually an M&S concept. Some comments on the items bought this year: Woolies' gammons are certainly exceptional and value for money. Not so sure about the beech smoke gammon at almost R800. Potato stacks - not worth the money paid, at all. They were a monumental let down - pretty flavourless and not a patch on homemade roast potatoes. Lamb Shank pie. Was really looking forward to this. However, felt cheated when considering just how much lamb shank was in the pie. For R599, one would expect a lot more. More hype than anything else. Not worth the money paid. Chocolate Mousse cake - again, overrated and not value for money. The cake was dry; the mousse was, however, lovely. Bought a 'Bestie' tin - a few packets inside; certainly not worth the R199 price tag. Final conclusion: I love Woolies - usually - but many of their "Our best ever' range were overpirces and a let-down. If Woolies wants to emulate M&S, they will need to do a lot more for 2025, and price their items more competitively.
