So athanasius believed everything that arius did, except jesus being gods only son isnt enough of a sacrifice for our salvation... but any man with children knows he would give his own life over his sons, so a sons death is almost worse than the father dying himself. Jesus can be divine and gods only son, hence hes the only divine creation seperating him from all else

Im a recent Catholic revert. I'd like to share a mystical experience I had when I was 17. I was suffering an extremely heavy anxiety attack and I felt my sense of self, the self that I was panicking over, completely vanish. It felt like my sense of self died and what took its place was an overwhelming feeling of love, joy, happenies, infinite space and more. Words are impossible to explain the experience. It lasted about 5 seconds. Most Christians quickly dismiss it as heretical but it doesn't change the fact the I know what I experienced and it felt like God. Can anyone shed some light on this experience thanks.

This is where i now for a while. But line you mentioned earlier, there have been instances where God has raised me a little higher into infused contemplation and it's always happened when I never expected it and in very personal ways. Have you shared this presentation besides in video format? Like the actual document?

I'm not sure how I stumbled here, yet here I am. I was watching the FranciscanFriars channel from Indiana and Fr Terrance has been taking about these steps of prayer. I've been on a journey through prayer reading all I can from Saints Teresa of Avila to John of the Cross to unkownsn like Francisco de Osuna and Walter Hilton. I'm especially interested in higher levels of prayer but knowing only God initiates those, I'm on the path of union or at least I hope so. Thank you for doing these. I'll be watching over the next few days starting from this. God bless.
