Hallo, I've a cat 322b excavator (engine 3116). The engine struggles as soon as hydraulic system is activated. I used to activate the hydraulic system while the engine was on idel, and it used to run. Now, if hydraulic system is activated on idel, it stalls immediately. It sounds like there's a high pressure of hydraulic as soon as the activation lever is engaged. If just continue to work on high idel, engine stalls after about 30 min of operation. Give it about 15 min rest, it works again and stalls afterwards. I changed all the hydraulic system filters. I really appreciate if you can help.

What happens if the rod end is overpressurised? There appears to be no pressure relief for it? Okay, I see now. That is a likely scenario for the bucket, but not for the boom, hence the lack on the rod end of the boom.

Bingo. A lot of wheel loaders have no port reliefs in the loader lift circuit. They just build the components to take the abuse

Very informative - I have a UH083 (pre EX200 Hitachi) and mine stalls the engine every few feet when walking/travelling even when engine is on full power - someone said probably seals gone or is it potentially the brake stuck on?

EXCELLENT video but I hoping for a troubleshooting section for priority valves because Ive been having an issue I cant figure out on my Allmand TLB. Maybe you can steer(/pun) me in the right direction. Im here because I think Ive narrowed it down to the priority valve but want some reassurance before I break into it. The machine starts fine and runs fine. The minute I touch the orbitrol steering wheel the engine bogs down hard and all other TLB functions slow to a crawl and it stays that way until I actuate the loader valve in anyway. Then the engine picks up and full function is restored until I touch the steering wheel in anyway again and I have to repeat the process. The hydraulic fluid also seems to get really hot after some use. So far Ive had the steering hydraulic cylinder rebuilt. It was leaking and it started a slow leak again right after rebuild. I checked all the orbitrol lines for blockage. I tore apart the orbitrol to look for problems. Looked clean. The only thing I think I have left to check is the load-sensing priority valve on the pump itself. Its an Eaton Series 26 Single Gear. Its referred to in the Eaton manuals as a load-sensing priority valve and the description of it mentions that "the excess flow(EF) is available for auxiliary circuits". Could the issue be related to the priority valve or the loader valve or either/both? Which should I attack first?

G'day! Can you please explain how the v- selector and pedals (for steering) work on the Cat 953/963. I can't figure out how the lever controls (left driver controls) the swashplate (left and right pumps)and the pedals at the same time.

Please explain difference between DR controller and DFR1 controller , basic difference is DFR1 control both pressure and flow . If we use closed loop DCV then how both type of controller will make any difference? What benifit we have to choosing DFR1 over DR? As both has almost same internal circuits.

So is it safe to say that Load Checks could not possibly be a factor for Tilt Cylinder Drift when the spool in the HOLD position as the Bridge ports for the load checks are blocked by lands on the spools. (assuming intact iron no cracks in valve body). Also, you went over port relief valves and some newer machines have Pilot Operated Directional Control Valve/ BICS Lock Valves on the lift and tilt circuits with a built in relief to Drain. I've removed mine and checked the orings and back up seals to find they are in tact, but im starting to suspect failure inside the valve itself. They are quite expensive and to just throw the part at my machine is not ideal. Is it possible to Bench test the functionality of these types of valves?
@hydraulics
@hydraulics Ай бұрын
@ShermBASS never seen anyone bench test them. You are correct, load checks do not cause drift.

Excellent videos! I have a 763 that is having an odd problem and nobody including bobcat can figure it out. They finally told me i need a whole new control valve assembly for 4k but none are available. Looking for a used one. With the machine running, if i lift the arms up and leave them for a minute, when i go to lower them, its hard to push the pedal and you hear it loading up like hydraulic pressure is building. Once it overcomes the arms drop roughly. This is exacerbated when there is a load on the arms. I have to lift the load up a few inches and then quickly start lowering it. I have to do that a few times to get the load down slowly. If its just a bucket of dirt i can push the pedal hard and overcome whatever hydraulic pressure Is building and it operates somewhat normally. Maybe this issue will interest you, I would really like to figure out whats causing it even if i find a replacement control valve. See video kzbin.info/www/bejne/aovFnqJ4l8Z8nZYsi=Px747QtOLbCEDv3Z

I just picked up a 480C and waiting for the books to get to me. I need to know how to properly check the hydraulic fluid on the machine. Previous owner said, WHILE RUNNING, IN 4TH GEAR. And nothing more. I read somewhere it has to be in transport position. Nothing totally clear proper check. Could you help? According to the serial, it's a 1979 Case 480C Thanks
