Mine didn't grow at all the first year I planted it. This would be my first spring with them. They stayed at about 8 inches. Should I cut it anyways??

How do you keep the water so clear..help
@Poseidonponds10 ай бұрын
Thank you for your question. It is a little more complicated then my response, but the quick answer is the combination of mechanical and biological filtration. If your pond is equipped with the proper sized filtration, you too can enjoy beautiful, clean water. For more information and to ask us more questions visit our website and submit an inquiry at www.poseidonponds.com

Do you need filtration with constantly flowing artesian water?
@Poseidonponds Жыл бұрын
you do not necessarily need to filter it but it will certainly make for better water quality and health. A feature like this where the pond acts like a collection spot definitely benefits from filtration because overtime debris and nutrients will accumulate and need to be dealt with. Hope this helps.

Would the detention pond have mosquitos?
@Poseidonponds Жыл бұрын
If the water is stagnant or still and the mosquitoes can complete their life cycle, yes, they will be there. If possible, the best way to prevent them is to have circulation in the water.

Great video when is the best time to trim back your Russian sage before winter or early spring?
@Poseidonponds Жыл бұрын
Early spring is best here in Michigan.
@davidv7275 Жыл бұрын
Not saying your method of triming is not great. Had 40+plants for years and when I trim them back early ealy spring, i just snap the branches off, no cutting, easy and much faster. I leave 8-12 inches. I have been succesful doing this way, get great plants. I also rake up (a lot by hand) the bed in the spring, lots of debris from the plants and the snap remnenats, but many of the tiny flowers which fill several trash cans.
@Poseidonponds Жыл бұрын
True, a lot of the branches can just snap off and we are sure it is much faster. Depending on the variety we have had some issues where the snapping is partial or doesn't completely break off smoothly and it can slice down the stem if pulled. We are so glad that your methods works good for you and we certainly say stick with what works for you! Happy gardening and thank you for commenting.

My goodness the amount of plastic put into what was just earth
@Poseidonponds2 жыл бұрын
Darin, many of our water features do have rubber liners and plastic equipment. Our water features once up and running provide an ideal ecosystem for many different wildlife and this is often done in urban areas where their natural habitats have been destroyed or removed. Thank you for your comment and for following us.

Thank you for your video on Russian sage, I have a problem with mine sending massive amounts of runners, that even go out 10 ft from the original plant. Where should I TRY to clip these off,to try to keep it more contained?
@Poseidonponds2 жыл бұрын
Some varieties definitely send out runners, mine (Little Spire) included. Not nearly as aggressive as yours though. Runners are best pruned in the Spring as close to the mother plant as possible. Discard or replant the sucker if you so choose. Thank you for watching and especially for the question comment.
