What if you dont have brick wall to drill into on upper level of house weve got no insulation under cladding but we need an inside wall solution to avoid cladding cost of rock wool put in.Thermal lined paper and damp seal paint? Any other solutions would be appreciated as i found black mould and water collection in corner of my daughters bedroom floor

I have a similar problem, except the wire failed because of bending fatigue at the two pronged bit that gets inserted into the small green brick power unit itself. There are no cables to splice. Any idea what this thing is called so I can order a replacement?

Seems odd they haven’t left a kink in the sides of the chimney for those that don’t have a wall outlet in the perfect location and instead need to run it discreetly as possible to above the cupboards with an extension lead.

Very nice 👍 I would also appreciate knowing what sized blade you used to be able to do the curves. I’m guessing less than 1/4” (6mm)?

Hi, great idea, looks great. Have you still got this flooring? How is it? I want to put down an OSB flooring downstairs in my house (obvs there's plaining, sanding and varnishing to get nice finish), but it's on a concrete floor and I was wondering about just floating it over a DPM, or if the budget stretches, DPM then 15mm insulation, then OSB tongue and groove. Do you think it could work?

stupid idea... 60-70% of all UK houses have in bathrooms already fitted, extractor fans... all you need to do if wanting to achieve the same affect, is swap the already fitted fan in/ out ducting in your loft, three minute job with one screwdriver after hitting isolator switch, and you will have air from outside being pushed into your rooms, so reducing on mass the humidity. But is that really the solution. Yes as that is exactly what a trickle vent is right? But some hard stats on this needed, and a £20 humidity sendor with wifi, in every room in a house, monitored to see/ before after affects, and keep the weather outside and heating inside the same to prove it.

well there really isnt any easy efficient way is there .im in S.E bc canada i get 4 seasons right now im in the rainy to snow transition . i have run a dehumidifier but dont want to waste electricity plus the cost .maybe ill just try calcium chloride to pull moisture from air .its crazy cause you can just boil potatoes at supper time and steam out the house .

M8 I’ve spent a week getting in a mega mess with trying to skirt my home after doing the whole floor. I have to say that I was so confused until I came across your video, feeling like I had no hope of getting my angles right to complete the mitres. You have a natural teaching knack that is crystal clear and has absolutely cleared my problems both in my head and practise. I feel like I can do any angle now and if I struggle I can refer back to this video. Thank you

How much does it cost to run? We're getting our loft borded in Jan and now thinking about getting a PIV installed afterwards 👌
@johnw275812 күн бұрын
The unheated version on mid setting costs about £2 a month (depending on speed setting), we have it on speed 4 which is about 10 Watts an hour, so 240 watts a day a day times by 30 = about £2. With the heater on it will be quite a lot more depending on the set point you have it at BUT it will only actually 'heat' the air a couple of degrees anyway so IMHO not worth having on. We actually have the heated version but I switched the heated element off.
