It does look cool but the critical point is how easily can the bracket be moved to the tow position when the car is not on a lift or the front end raised?
@40wattgarage87Ай бұрын
Takes between 3 & 4 minutes. There's quite a bit of room & wrench swing in that area
@danlipperini1739Ай бұрын
Seems like there’s no reason to keep it on the car in the “horizontal position” since it needs to be removed for use and reinstalled in the “vertical/perpendicular position”. If it’s just a storage issue, I’d keep it behind my seat just in case it’s ever needed. Nice engineering, but discounting the “bling factor” for something that nobody will ever see, I can achieve the same result with a piece of flat stock that’s lying around the garage and a few minutes with a drill. I applaude the gentleman from Marlin for coming up with the idea, but seems like a costly alternative to some bar stock, a bolt and a split link.

It's a cool design, but obviously will not be as simple to move from stow to tow position when your car is on the grown on the side of the road with only 4" of ground clearance.

Hi, I also bought this 32 kit and watched all your video build to get some ideas for my project. I know that it was 7 yrs ago but, if you wanted to run a gas line from the gas tank to the engine, what size wire would you recommend, because I have no clue? Thanks, hope I hear from you.

Awesome authentic professional dude and excellent thourough vidio. Once you got the solid posts free from hollow tube did you need to build it up with compound or welding or something to restore it's strength?
@40wattgarage876 ай бұрын
After they came back from sandblasting, it was evident that it was really only surface rusting/pitting... no real damage or strength compromise on the steel.

After you chopped the top down, how did you get the front, sides and back windows to fit? I know that they were cut, but how? Thanks.

Thanks for this video. I just picked up the same Revell kit today, and have started on my version of a Milner-inspired Deuce.

I'm happy to see you didn't chop the grill. Milners coupe is iconic but I always hated how low the grill sat.

Falfa's 55 Chevy 150 HAD to be a small block powered car because the movie was from 1962 and there was no BB chevy except the 409 up till 65 so, what does a BB car have to do with Falfa's 55 Chevy 150 ? Same deal with Milners 32, it almost HAD to be a 283 because the 327 with the 4" inch bore didn't come out until Nov of 62. In real life both cars had to be 283s. just the facts.

You can modify the Revell steelies by using the inner 5 spoke wheels modified of course cutting out the webbing. glued on the outer rim of the steelies. I would have used the narrow ring on the front and the wider ring on the back. Works like a charm.

Amazing body work great eye for detail! But (not to be mean), didn't both AMT and MPC make an American Graffiti kit? Or are they both no longer in production?

I too had to literally scratch build replica add American graffiti 58 Impala very time-consuming and a lot of patience and research and study but man was it worth it I'm also doing the Mercury not a lot on that one as far as pictures and whatnot but it's a journey and it's fun but this is my favorite by far the 58 Impala

It always bothers me that it is clearly a different car that turns over during the race in the movie. If Lucas would have just put the same wheels on the stunt car it would have been much more convincing than seeing those steelies.
@CycolacFan2 жыл бұрын
The one that rolls is a leftover stunt car with separate left/right rear brakes that was built to be rolled over in Two Lane Blacktop but they never did the stunt. The beauty car with the 454 was too nice to wreck.

@timsacco6g6943 жыл бұрын
That thing is going to be awesome when it's done, I remember in late 70's?, early 80's?, MPC had a kit of this car, the casting was crude at best, I still have the engine from it in the closet, I used it for a short 57 Nomad that I also still have in pieces, man I used to have all sorts of patience back then to build models, it's sad that I have a bunch of unbuilt ones, maybe one day I'll dig one out and try to build again!
