There are 2 methods: The basic method can work on any phone (your phone not a borrowed one as long as it allows you to use a photo album slide) and an advanced method that uses shortcuts that is only available on iPhone.

In an effort to be fully transparent, yes :) You still need the SETUP portion as well as access to the downloads to perform the effect anyway. So I decided to give as much access for free as possible so people can see exactly what they are buying without actually learning the method. :) Hope people find this helpful!

Would love to know more about reverse book test. Do we need to go through the book first or we can do it without going through the spectator book.

The reverse book test is a method that allows a spectator to name any freely chosen page and you immediately know the last word on the page without having to ask any more questions. You do not need a second book.

Can you easily transform a Extreme Burn 2.0 Gimmick into Locked & Loaded or is it recommended to build a new one from the ground?

Its been awhile but I want to say you ca carefully pull part of the gimmick apart, add the locked and loaded bit, then put it back together without having to completely redo it.

Thanks so much for this review. I’m browsing Josh’s site and trying to decide which book to start with. If it’s possible to answer this without tipping the method, I’m trying to understand the difference between what he calls the LLW method in the Alice book test versus this holy grail method. Is it substantially different, and more importantly, is the spectator’s experience different?

The principles between alice and 451 are similar but not the same. For example you watch their eyes in both methods but you are not watching for the same thing. The method in 451 is also much easier to spot than in alice IMO.

Your question about “is it substantially different?” Yeah it isnt the same method. Its like asking if a pass and double undercut are substantially different as both are methods to control a card to the top. The experience for the spectator will be watever you make it. No two performers are the same. Even when doing flashback, I perform it for a few different people and do it differently each time. So even though I am using the same method, the experiences are different

It sounds like they’re similar in that experience. I guess I was just trying to suss out for myself whether Alice was a better starting point than 451 because of the price difference and extendability to the other books in the set. I’m really intrigued by all of them, but I think I’m probably going to start with the books in series 2 and put 451 on a wishlist for later. Thanks again!

I’m not trying to disagree, but in 2024, does a 4-minute magic performance with only 2 effects (even if one happens in the audience’s hands) really meet today's standard? I’m not saying fast or slow is better, but with platforms like IG and TikTok shaping attention spans, it feels like ADHD is changing how Performing Arts are received.

Level Up is definitely a favorite of mine, and I perform it a lot at the anime conventions I go to. It gets great reactions, especially when both cartridges disappear. I'll definitely have to check out mindblox

It is super helpful when using the calculator so I doubt they will reverse it. Though having an option to toggle it off/on would be helpful.

It uses an Iphone calculator so only works with iPhone. The “any phone” comment I made was in reference to Toxic. Meaning you could borrow anyone’s phone. But it needs to be an iphone because it uses the iphone calculator app. None of that matters though because Toxic is not the effect I am offering the first look on. Toxic-Less uses shortcuts that need to be installed on your phone for it to work so you lose the ability to borrow the phone with this. Again “any phone” means any iphone because obviously the method involves an iphone app.

Liquify - I saw a FB reel a week or two ago of that New York magic dealer, do the bit with the (faux) glue bottle. pour it into his hand, then turn the glue into a ring. I still haven't thought of anything or watched anything yet that would warrant me buying it.
