Interesting. My first car was a well used '57. The six volt system made for battery draining starting on cold days. The fuel pump crapped out on the New Jersey turnpike. That's just one of the many "adventures" with this VW and after 10 or 11 months it became someone else's problem.

what is the real story?
@retrogamersev5543Ай бұрын
@@ResponseDigitalMedia The real story is that it's a 70s survivor car with all stock components that does a 14 second 1/4 mile on a good day There's no way that car could have been a legendary street racer It was a story made up by the son of the original owner to hike up the price at auction Also the original owner never said he street raced the car, that only came out after he had died

The entire story of the black ghost from the 70s is a giant work of fiction if you look at the son of the original owner he is a videographer. The truth is that car in the 70s on the street would have been waxed by several other Street racers that were building performance drag cars it would not have dominated anybody other than a small group of friends in the neighborhood maybe. It's a catchy name though.

The Black Boast is a lie made up by his wanta-be movie maker son. The so called black ghost was stock and was probably lucky to run a low 14 second quarter mile, so it didn't dominate anything other than this guys sons imagination.

Why would dodge make this car and name it "Black Ghost?" The whole story behind it is pure BS! The guy who owned that 1970 Hemi Challenger was a honorable guy, by all accounts, but the stories of his car that came from his friends is all NON SENSE. His absolutely stock 70 Hemi car was NOT the all conquering car the stories from friends would have you believe it to be. If you're gonna try to sell such a story at least use a Hemi Dart or ZL1 Camaro for your story rather than a car that is a very well documented 14.0 sec runner back in the day. Given the large number of 12 second street cars that would show up at the drag strips every week end in the 1970s......nobody and I do mean NOBODY is buying this Back Ghost story as anything but BS.
