Jason's voice was great here. I don't like how Tris Imboden always took a softer approach to how he hits the drums in this song though. Danny Seraphine always played this song much better. He hit the drums harder and gave the song a more powerful impact. I don't care what they said about his tempo issues or whatever, he was just way better at all the songs from before Tris's time than Tris was.

props to Jonathan Groff to getting Cetera vocals, vowels and style of singing it's flawless to the point in sounds pretty close. When the 2nd verse and the 2nd chorus I heard it and I lost it completely in the theatre.

The moment I come across their video, first thing I look for is the year. Anything beyond 1977/78 is not worth checking out.

I started listening to them in 2000 when my dad brought home the Greatest Hits 1982-1989 album so I love this era of Chicago. Different from what they used to be but still great music nevertheless.

I saw Chicago several times between 89-95. This is probably the closest Jason came to sounding like he did on the original recording. Either he was lazy or complacent when he sung live. He sounded good sometimes and other times he sounded like he was going through puberty.

I cant believe compression, chorus, echo, and doubling live wasnt a thing then

My fav Chicago song. By far. Sucks they never played it much in the 90s and on. Saw a David Foster doc the other day. It’s newer. Jimmy and Lee are still pissed about having to play synths. 🙂. The music video of this song kind of has them doing that (and Walt on a guitar). I love the whole band, still. The 90s iteration and lineup is my fav with Keith Howland on guitar and Tris on drums. I guess thats because I was a teen In the 90s and that’s the lineup I knew. But, I sure love watching them play the old stuff and all the original hits. 😊

Dwayne Bailey and Jason Scheff are both underrated too much fame for Cetera and Terry Kath. All of them did a really excellent job. Chicago is one of the few classics that can't be forgotten throughout the ages.
