I still regret not making my Mom let me go to the purple rain concert in the 80s I was in 7th or 8th grade I think but I was such a fan I recorded the purple rain record onto a cassette and took it apart made it to play it backwards to play the end of darling Nikki for my family to hear.Anyway so sad outta the 1000s of shows I have been to over the years I never got to a Prince show!I can't begin to explain how much I loved his music U also chose this version of the song because it was uploaded on a 12/21 my wife died 12/21/10 so another lonely Christmas is mine!I miss u Mishna

I feel we must be around the same age. LOL, I had to seriously pressure my folks for permission to go too. They relented thankfully, which actually surprised me. This was the show I went to...upper level w my 2 best friends at the time. Made us Prince addicts for the rest of our natural lives!

Well if it wasn't for prince where would these others be for real now day's me being a older dude. I see now how he's was very smart and had a movie perple rain many other's trying to make movies right after he had and didn't work out .us older folk's see now how great he was and there are still band's he.put together. That still make money but deep down. They know. Any way best of luck to them .the 80s and 99s were very good.

This song was one of those songs that would fill the dance floor in seconds!! The beat and the groove of this gem song was so infectious that you couldn't help but jump up and get on the dance floor!! What a damn shame that it didn't peak higher than #20 on the Hot 100!!
