I guess it depends on who you're talking too! A lot of people in 2019, 2020 and 2021, thought they were over paying for homes. Turns out they made quite a bit in just a couple of years.

Yes it did need a lot of cosmetic work but it was a fantastic location with close to 2 acres. It sold for $1,245,000 in November of 2022 in 6 days.

I can get that house in the $300,000's in Texas. Why are the prices for homes in Tennessee so expensive? Yes, our property taxes are much higher, but paying over half a million dollars for a house less than 2100 sq ft is ridiculous. I can see why you're trying to appeal to people from California. It will also turn your state blue. You've witnessed the destruction of our country thanks to the Democrats since the last election.

Home prices are getting expensive here because there isn't enough supply to meet the demand for housing. Housing is still cheaper in Knoxville compared to many other areas in the USA.

I am in the market for a new home in TN. When I see a home has been staged I know it is overpriced. I refuse to even consider a staged home. Who paid the money for the staging? Who thinks berber rugs, plastic plants, and cheap furniture are going to make the house bring more money. Are they trying to distract me from how small the yard is or how tiny the rooms are? Staging is a big turnoff. House has a lot of space-- is a decent subdivision $650K subdivision house listed for 1.5m.

"With an average investment of 1% of the sale price into staging, about 75% of sellers saw an ROI of 5% to 15% over asking price, according to data from the Real Estate Staging Association (RESA)."- NAR website. River Sound subdivision has had 12 homes sell for an average price of $1,067,000. You might be confusing this neighborhood with a different one. We wish you the best in your home search.
