I think Apple once had the idea that the iBooks Store would be populated with many books made with iBook Author. They even had a special tab - “made with iBooks Author’ in the bookstore. It appears they gave up on the model. And instead took many iBA features and folded them into Apple Pages. That’s too bad. I wrote or edited 20 books designed with iBooks Author. Since Apple discontinued iBA, I can’t even get into the files I used to create the books

You could upload the sound file to SoundCloud. Then get hyperlink from SoundCloud and paste it into the text field of Google MyMap point

Hi Peter, is this your new go to app to create iBooks? I want to create books similar to your "Exploring History Series." Do you use inDesign at all? Your thoughts...thanks in advance.

iBooks Author is kinda dead. So yes, this is a great replacement - especially for student use. It's easy for students to collaboratively create a book or make their own

Can I use it offline?
@PeterPappas5 жыл бұрын
It's online only. Microsoft Sway has a similar image slider. If you download the app. That will work off line. I done image comparisons using iBooks Author and 2nd party image widgets at Bookry. They will work offline on iPad. See peterpappas.com/2015/10/japantown-history-awarded-best-ibook-textbook-best-widget.html

inserting a page always causes my page to be inserted at the end. how is it that yours doesn't do that
@PeterPappas5 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure. I just tried the process again in a demo and it still works in iBooks Author. You need to be sure to right click the spot where you want to add page and choose "insert page." I was using a "book" that consisted of blank pages. If your book had flowing text, it might behave differently.

I'm trying to move the last 30 chapters of my 75 chapter book book from the end to the beginning. Do I have to move each one individually? I can't seem to select multiples.

Unfortunately it's only one chapter at a time. Hoping iBA gets a refresh someday soon.

nice! Is that a widget you created yourself?
@PeterPappas10 жыл бұрын
Thanks! No, it's one of the free widgets available at bookry.com/widgets/ My work was finding historic photos, the location of the historic photo and lining up the new photo to match the old. I found it works best in historic photos that have people. I shoot contemporary photos that do not have any people cluttering up the shot. Also need enough consistent architecture to provide a "matching" setting.

Let J, P and C be number of girlfriends for Juan, Pedro and Carlos, respectively. Given J=5P, C=P-1, J+P+C=20... Solving for P, we have 5P+P+(P-1)=20 thus P=3. Solving for J, we have J=5x3=15. And solving for C, we have C=3-1=2.
