I spent fifteen hundred hours flying Beavers on floats in the Canadian bush, and loved every single second of it. Even more fun was water skiing behind one. Just leave the flaps up and get it on the step. What a hoot.

yes, it's an "uncommon" / non standard layout, but the old De havillands are like this. As well as some other vintage aircrafts such as some DC3's

How do we know the aircraft is over France? On top of cloud could be anywhere. Penge North on a Saturday?

Why does this aircraft fly circles for hours around Frankfurt?
@maverick230419854 жыл бұрын
We are a mapping company, we are doing maps :) I'm not the current pilot of the plane.

Nice video. What's the 206 like to fly?
@maverick230419855 жыл бұрын
Well, after 6 years and 1500 hrs on it, I have to say that it's still an enjoyable plane to fly and to work with. Great payload, good amount of power, and quite forgiving. You have to remember that it's pretty heavy on the nose, though, which is something to take in consideration during the flare.

@@maverick23041985 Thanks for the reply. When I first started to fly the 172 after flying the 150 for a number of years the thing that caught me out the most was the heavier nose in the flare compared to the 150. I imagine the 206 is heavier still. Shame there aren't many 206's at flying clubs as I'd love to fly one!

How did you get permission to fly over central london? :O Really want to know!
@Xiderpunk7 жыл бұрын
It's called a special VFR (SVFR) clearance and he wasn't over central london, he was flying the most usual route. SVFR's are granted depending on many factors such as traffic in and around london city and heathrow. Usually it's at or below 1000ft.
@Xiderpunk7 жыл бұрын
Just to add to this, you need an aircraft equipped for it also with Mode S transponder. The whole SVFR thing is essentially a concession designed to let airfields in the greater London area operate, such as Fairoaks, Denham, Elstree etc.
