The adrenalin rush combined with the abject fear experienced during combat is addictive for some. Bert's book is an incredible as it happened account of bravery and self sacrifice.

This is outside Holmestrand near Oslo, in the Holmestrand fjord. Many of the U-boats stationed in Bergen and Trondheim came to Holmestrand after surrendering. I think some of these boats also operated out of Horten, also near Oslo.

This American pilot served in the bombers during World War II. After a large number of missions in Germany and elsewhere, he could return home to the USA. He then volunteered to engage in the P-51 Mustang fighter planes to continue fighting the enemy and also to do ground attacks. After having shot down several German planes and destroyed enemy military targets on the ground, he unfortunately died while pursuing a German fighter which dived in an attempt to escape. Unable to right his plane in time, he hit the ground and was killed. This hero is buried among his comrades in the American cemetery of Neuville En Condroz near my home in the province of Liège, Belgium. (Route des Ardennes) His grave is number 43 in plot B, Row 36.

Thank you, but please change the misspelling of his name - ‘Bert,’ not ‘Birt.’ Edit: Also, he flew a B-17 during the war until he re-upped and began flying a P-51. Thank you again.

Khot hadde brev allerede i slutten av mars om et forestående angrep på Norge. Han valgte å ikke informere regjeringen med denne informasjonen. Uansett hvilket perspektiv du har, så kan man si at Khot var udugelig til den jobben han var satt til å gjøre.

+ Angels One-Five There are other aircraft at the bottom of Jonsvatnet and other lakes. I think Jonsvatnet has another Ju-88 (badly damaged), Bf-109 and a Ju-87. Local permission for any recovery can be difficult, although a very intact He-111 was also raised with the Ju-88. The He-111 is getting conservation work in Germany.
