@FlexxenRandomPlaces when I was in a park in Kyoto there was an outdoor skating rink, but I didn't think they had my size.😕

I have no idea why this showed up in my recommendations now, but I live there, have for quite a while now. In the segment about the Stena depareting, right as it turns towards the Werftstraße you can see two old buildings directly at the main street, tehy got torn down this month. One was from 1896 (the right one) I lived there, the other was from 1893 I believe. The abondened building at Karlstal was a postal office, underneath was a postal distribution center, both were severely outdated, it got torn down about a year or two ago. The post-tower is now abandoned, has been for just about two years now. Behind the now torn down postal office was a big indoor swimming pool (on the hill way behind the post distribution center), that too had been torn down for quite a while, the current constructionside doesn't seem to continue much, although it supposedly does, it just takes a whole lot longer it seems? Also most construction on the Gaardener Ring has been finished the bus line 15 now makes a turn here to bring in and take home office workers.

Thanks so much for sharing! The backstories of people living in where I film are a huge inspiration for me to carry on. I didn't know so much has changed around Gaardener Ring. I guess it's time for me to come back!

Fantastisch.

Nice train crossing! Is that a small train line that just goes within the town?
@FlexxenRandomPlaces15 күн бұрын
Hah, I wish! It's a regional train and it connects some towns far outside the citys boundaries.

Great walking tour along the unused railway line. The walk through the forest gives you the impression that it's a place where you are almost on your own - and so close to busy Kiel canal! The peaceful lake at the end seems to be a good place for a rest.
@FlexxenRandomPlaces25 күн бұрын
You're right, it's a quite unusual place. I was surprised the first time I saw the railway there!!

I like this video. I watched it beforeI came here, and now watching it again, I "think" I can see that it was shot on aSunday, around midday, from the shadows.Ugly city? I disagree. It has its charm, and its history, some of it seriously, really bad. but overall, pretty normal as city development goes.
@FlexxenRandomPlacesАй бұрын
You're right, it was shot on Sunday, June 12 around 12:30! I highly agree with you on the other part, too. German cities without truly old historic old towns kinda all look similar to each other I think 😁
@TheHeraldOfChangeАй бұрын
@@FlexxenRandomPlaces Agree. Elmshorn's history goes back 800 something years, yet it was severly damaged in WWII. Pro Tip, The walking street you went along is called Koenigstrasse. At the top, just beoree you pass the church, on the left is an historic building. Now it is the Library. Before WWI it was a brewery - After all this time, they are still, "messing with peoples minds."
@FlexxenRandomPlacesАй бұрын
@TheHeraldOfChange Wow, I didn't know the library was once a brewery, what a coincidence 😆 I will check my Video Description, where I usually post timestamps for important buildings/streets/places and add the ones you mentioned in case I haven't posted them already! Thanks again!

You really need to blur the faces, IT IS illegal in Germany to film random people and put them online without their consent ...

You do know that it is illegal in Germany to film random people on the street and post this video without their consent. You have to blur their faces...
@FlexxenRandomPlaces3 ай бұрын
Thanks for your concern, you're partly right! It is illegal in private spaces and if the people I film are the main content of my work - which is not the case. Otherwise it's the same as taking a selfie which you post on social media in a crowded place - there are people in the background too. Actually, I don't like filming crowded places myself, as I see the focus of my work in the places, not the people in these places. Sometimes you will even see me noticing people (especially children, as they sometimes factually don't decide to be in that place at that time) quickly filming away as soon as I can! In other videos, seeing people doing something obviously illegal or showing too much skin, I blur them out, cut out the scene or delete the entire video. Still, I get your concern. If you see yourself in any of my videos and wish to be removed, I will take action immediately!

I was born in Pinneberg, and lived in Tornesch until I was 18. Elmshorn, and especially the train station, is still ugly as hell. I used to go to the dancing school when I was a kid, and the Apollo Cinema closed about 20 years ago. Shame, a ticket was dirt cheap, 1 Deutsche Mark in the nineties.
