Thank you! Hawknest is great as an out and back as you described. It can also be nice to take other trails from Pima Dynamite parking all the way to the NE corner of Brown's Ranch then ride Hawknest back to the Pima Dynamite Parking. The flowers are just starting to pop up so be sure you check it out sometime in the next 2-3 weeks before the flower fade. Have a great ride!

If you are up for a longer killer ride. Try parking at the NRA Pit and riding up L'ape De Huez and riding down Red Mountain rush. Then go over to Twisted Sister and Big Sister and take Wild horse back to your car. That is a killer ride.

What is the height and length of the side piece?
@devincrighton4376
@devincrighton4376 2 жыл бұрын
You can make a ramp whatever dimensions you want as long as you have a 10ft+ radius and the base is substantially long you should be fine. I recommend following the link in the description for the plans of this ramp. The plans are written so they efficiently utilize 1 sheet of plywood. For the ramp in the plans the length is 48" and the height is 15".

Did you have a gyroscope/stabilizer for the under seat shots ? Neat angle, haven’t seen that before..
@devincrighton4376
@devincrighton4376 3 жыл бұрын
Nope, I didn't use a gimbal for any shot in this video. I opted against it since I would be standing most of the time and I wanted to show the bike movement more clearly. Gimbals smoothen the video out but also dum down the lean of the bike.

@devincrighton4376
@devincrighton4376 3 жыл бұрын
You are welcome. With regards to a half pipe I recommend turning the 2x4's so the short side matches up to the riding surface since they will see much more stress on a larger longer ramp. Also depending on how wide you make it you may want to do 2x6's to ensure the ramp doesn't deflect or have strength issues. Best of luck!

@@devincrighton4376 The design isn't the issue, its the way you assembled it and the order you assembled it in, there are many videos on youtube where they are using the correct method and order, if you watch it back I'm sure you will be able to figure out where you could of made it easier for yourself and your viewers that will be attempting this..

Is a 19in ramp too high for my 10 yr old? He's good on his bike with riding wheelies and jumping his selfmade dirt slopes.
@devincrighton4376
@devincrighton4376 3 жыл бұрын
It is hard to say because I haven't seen your child ride. It is likely if they can jump and land safely on a 12-15" ramp then they are ready to step up to something like 18-20" but this high puts much more stress on your ankles and knees when landing on flat. Make sure they land on a down slope or build a landing to avoid injuries. Hope your child has lots of fun and rides safe. Thank you for checking our my videos!

Are you wondering how far and high I would jump off it? or how tall and long the ramp is? I don't have the ramp anymore but I think it was around 20" tall and 50" long and I could jump up to two bike lengths at maybe 3.5ft high. Although this took me a couple weeks before I was hitting it fast enough to get that far.

I definitely think it is something you should have the ability to make with supervision from an adult. Make sure you have an adult help you if you are using power tools and wear your personal protective equipment like safety glasses. Better yet work on it together with your parents as a fun family activity.
