I can’t really comment on the Elton John songs because with Queen songs I can tell which parts you’ve taken inspiration from. I can’t fault the piano playing. You don’t seem to cut corners and just play studio phrases as well as singing without wobbling too much. That alone is the highlight for me for the whole show. Having said that, I hope you don’t take offence that I’ve found some critiques on your singing. I think you sound a lot better singing conservatively because you really do strain to the point whole phrases become flat. For example, the second verse in Bohemian Rhapsody. Following from this, if you maintain conservatism in your phrasing, you will generally sing better and improve your confidence. If you listen to bootlegs in the 70s, Freddie really holds back in his studio phrasing until much later. So pretty much sing conservatively so you don’t end up flat in your singing. Another thing I’ve picked up is your style of singing. In my opinion I find it quite clear most of your phrasing comes from Freddie himself and that’s okay. However, the speaksinging and attempting to sound darker does not work for you personally. The speaksinging can easily be replaced with actual singing and sounding darker really bites you back in hitting higher notes (Bo Rhap for example). I would say try not to take Freddie as an inspiration or at least 80s Freddie because the difference is that his voice at the time had the depth to oversing and still sound okay. Your voice is really thin compared to his so they instead squeak rather than growl when you try his phrasings. I’d say focus on proper phrasing rather than trying to sound like Freddie. Also the way you end your phrasings come out soft sometimes. This is probably one I will be more lenient because it’s most likely from confidence. But overall, don’t fizzle out and really end those phrasings how you started them. I hope this helps you because I did enjoy points such as the “carry on” in Bo Rhap. I hope to see more of you and hopefully even more confidence and a progression from this performance :))

Thanks for the advice. I do plan to sing the Queen songs more conservatively going forward. The reason I tried going darker with my tone is because I managed to hit most of the high notes, especially in Bohemian Rhapsody, in my previous 1-hour show, while going for 1986 phrasing. Check it out, and I'll keep posting my progress on this channel!

@@LemonCoversAndLiveShows you can try to be dark but if you want to hit those high notes consistently then opening your airways rather than squeezing it out is the way to go. The darker tone will restrict your range overtime.

@@MintiesPoopin I recently did another performance of Bohemian Rhapsody which I will upload soon, I actually hit "life had JUST begun" because I didn't make my tone darker then

Damn it’s wild how jam-packed with talent some of the videos with even a relatively small amount of views are. Like this is phenomenal and it’s somehow lost in the sea of videos. It’s insane to me.
