how does this not have any comments yet? It's 1am, and we just cranked Manchaca Eyeball for our cats to embrace in the wee-textureless hours of the morning. Thank god for time machines, let alone Sam's. I can't quite remember the first time our paths crossed but thankfully ours did. The night this was filmed was actually quite humid. I say stage-side for the entire set with ear plugs in my head. Nothing could have shaken me, though. It's kind of like Winterland in that way; people have reported, you know from their time underneath the spinning cosmic ball it was their happiest place. I can't say if Sam's was/is mine, but I certainly love the atmosphere...

this became the last video of me playing the guitar in that apartment ... a lot of hopeless days went into the walls surrounding me there. I don't care to imagine them anymore, especially since im not there anymore. with all this perspective, and new found beliefs in myself, i'd love to shake hands with the person i used to be. he was grateful to be there in the first place. and he did what he did to stay there and protect himself. he wrote all those songs and played them here for you and himself to enjoy. so it's only fair they end there, or continue on down the path. this video is one of the few that doesn't make me sad to watch, because i was happy playing there for what has become the last time. i think now if i knew then what i do now i'd be a lot happier too. anyway, thanks for watching ... this video is dedicated to my old friend, Adrianna koitszch. rest in peace.

back story on the video; I was walking from Mozart's after I finished some work. I used to live nearby Walsh landing. And when I was really tired from work I would come down to watch boats dock in and out of the river...was therapeutic for me. Anyway, today I was walking and said ah fuck it let me go down and see what's up. This guy was there with his dog and I thought now this is action. So he was throwing that ball for the dog, who's name is Lana Del Ray Vaughn (after the singers, Lana Del Rey and Stevie Ray Vaughn). He's been doing this for about three weeks, that's why I say, "you're three weeks into this, also." This video has been really helpful today when nothing makes sense except the things that don't really make sense...if you get what I'm saying. When I was watching this, the Grateful Dead's 1978 song I NEED A MIRACLE was playing in my earbuds. Made me think of how no matter what kind of ball you're chasing don't stop and give it everything you've got. Who knows, you may just catch it. Peace Out. Nick

we spent three days traveling around the city of Turin. but we stayed at my great aunt Ketty's house in Aglie. in this video, alex walks with my great grand aunt, i think. the kids in this video all have their grandmother as i do mine. my mother's mother. i am constantly reminded of my own family while here. how much they would enjoy being a part of Italy, as we are now. i get this feeling sometimes, shockwaves of joy... i look around and smile, I really am here!!!! not just thinking about going or watching someone else enjoy in this time. i love Italy. it's stolen my heart. i took this video of a large shopping mall, right next to the duomo (my precious video) .. people walked on the face of the milan crest. forsaken by tourists. i thought how nice, some peace. But, people did what they want. peace

here we are at the duomo, it's a beautiful cathedral of many many years. fundamental to the city. children laugh as birds fly around. they wrap their fingers on the nose of Saints. a slice of the italian pilgrimage. peace
