Some notes: 1. Anaconda was a major reason I was planning a trip to Kings Dominion for the first time since 1994 or 95 (I was only 10 or 11 and not used to coasters then). Now I don't plan to go this year, and I heard about it's removal on Christmas Day. 2. For Time Warp, it's pronounced "voe lar-ay", not "vole air." 3. Premier's Loch Ness retrack opens the door to other Arrows getting the same treatment, provided they aren't the unpleasantly rough Super Looper types or similar. 4. Boomerang removals aren't a big loss to me unless they somehow manage to teach an old Boomerang new tricks. Hersheypark did that with the Jolly Rancher Remix's scent tunnel. 5. The Mighty Canadian Minebuster is sa--never mind, someone beat me to it.

Legacy six flags parks have been neglected for a long time. This is pruning for growth. They announced $1 Billion in capital spending for 25/26. Six Flags Great America had buccaneer battle closed for years just walled off, finally removed for a dive coaster. Once parks have matured, removal become necessary for continued growth and problems children are the first to go.

When it comes to Worlds of Fun, I sadly don't think Boomerang is going to go anytime soon, since it isn't really a problem attraction, unlike it's new neighbor. Timber Wolf still runs pretty alright for a Din coaster, and is still a favorite for a lot of people, but I don't think many would be opposed to having a new RMC at this park Really the only thing holding this park back from being great is a lack of funds, and almost no new editions in over a decade and a half, attendance has dropped in recent years as well as quailty, which will hopefully be a sign to Six Flags Management (Cedar Fair Really) to acutely put some effort into it Maybe that new Mattel park will give them enough drive to start improving

At Carowinds I think Carolina Cyclone is the only ride really at risk. Hurler gets surprisingly good ridership, Flying Cobra's is a pretty decent ride with the new trains, and Vortex got a refurb/repaint not too long ago. Plus I think if something were to happen to Vortex they would've done it when they were converting/removing all the other standups in the mid 2010s, it's the only standup legacy Cedar Fair did nothing to.

I honestly get why it's still going. I wish I could get to it to ride it again honestly. However what are going to do, take and alter the plans enough from twisted timbers to make it an RMC that still is actually like the original? I mean I think it's at least safe in the same manner than the prior hurler model and iron rattler (and wildcat's revenge, all didn't change everything they are direct homages to the originals). I agree Carolina Cyclone is probably at risk. Not impossible to restore but everyone apparently is too dumb, lazy, or irgnorant to follow Busch Gardwns Williamsburg or Over Georgia's example and simple restore their classic loopers.

As someone who's home park is VF and who knows a lot about the park, I just want to clarify a few things. Firstly, it seems that CF management is at the helm with removing rides. Valleyfair was one of the two parks that founded the CF chain, and the "fair" part comes from it. With that said, Excalibur as far as I know isn't in any danger at all. I'm sure maintenance on it isn't all too expensive, so they wouldn't remove it. And if they did, because it sits on a flood zone, the city of Shakopee won't let them build something there unless something substantial is done to fix the problem, which is too expensive. And that statement sums up most of Valleyfair's rides. The park has been running on borrowed time. If anything, I could see venom getting the axe in a couple years, cork in less than 10 Mad Mouse in less than 10, etc etc. Even the flats too. Xtreme Swing has had major problems this past year that cause it to run much slower than other of its own counterpart. If they ran it at the same speed, it could probably damage mechanical components in the ride. So, to sum it up, Valleyfair is a park that is running on borrowed time, and if they don't do something about it its gonna all fall down at once. I know management is capable of that, but corporate is a bit dicey since they give the park practically nothing to work with. I'm praying we get something in 2026 like the higher ups at the park were hinting at because the future of the park depends on it. If they get nothing, they're fucked, for a lack of better word. Hopefully corporate pulls their head out of their ass and finally does something about this. It's kinda just depressing seeing all the parks around you getting new additions while your home park gets nothing, not even a new bathroom, a new restaurant location. No new coasters in 18 years, no new waterslides in 10 years, hell, they even took OUT the best ride in soak city too. The whole water park is extremely outdated too. And, on TOP of that, our last new ride we got was a Larson loop in 2018, which was 7 years ago if I did my math right. It's just sad.
@garrettsmith85913 күн бұрын
I have ridden Timberwolf so I can tell you about it. And to be honest, I don’t think it’s gonna be removed anytime soon the reason I say that because they recently did a lot of track work on it (it used to be so rough that my sisters friend got a concussion on the ride) the other reason I say that is because it is the only classic wooden roller coaster in the park. Prowler and Zambizi Zinger are modern Woodies. The third reason, I don’t think it’s going anywhere anytime soon is because they poured a lot of money into the ride in recent years. And the fourth and final reason I don’t see it going anywhere in anytime soon is because land is not an issue at Worlds of Fun. They have tons of undeveloped land that they can easily use to put just about anything on. However when they do decide to pull the plug on the ride I guarantee you they will most likely RMC it and not tear it down completely. To be honest I will be shocked if they tear it down and don’t RMC it. However boomerang I am going to agree with. But like I said, land is not an issue with this park and there’s not a whole lot they can put this place due to it’s small footprint only like a flat ride or maybe a free spin. But yeah, I don’t think any rides are getting remove anytime soon at World of fun. And I’m about 90% sure that the next ride to go at WOF will be a flat ride.

SFOG already confirmed that Kid Flash is done for good during Coaster Fest a few months back. It's a shame that being the case as TwiCy was the last major investment the park received at the time prior to Georgia Surfer, now being called Georgia Goldrusher. By removing Kid Flash and also the Axis arena, it would free up space to add in a dive or tilt coaster in that plot of land.

I wish they'd drop the multi-launch for SFADV for 2026. They're opening one in 2025! Build something else first. Now, I really enjoy dive coasters and also think like a smaller GCI or Gravity group family/thrill coaster would be a great thing in between basically riding skull mountain and then either the new for 2025 or picking a B&M. In the meantime they should be closing El Toro and giving it a makeover from the three companies gci/gravity group/rmc. Titan track and GCI's new trains? If they keep it 3/4 the same itll have better trains from anyone and they could just add 1-2 inversions. Then have a full wooden coaster by it or Jersey devil. Yes, it needs it. "Iron Toro" and something else with a western or Mexican theme or like something haunting (if my jd since you also got skull mountain). If they aren't adding a flat ride every year with the coaster already done and the following year after removing so many rides though, they obviously have no sensible plan whatsoever. I would've said SLC's would've been on the chopping block, other than kong they should just fix them up especially the boomerangs.

@oneandonlysound993 күн бұрын
@@doctorcoaster I mean yeah pretty much. I think what got me to rant more about it was people who don't seem to think it's needs saving, like "nah it's fine." It hasn't been fine since it hit the 15 year mark. If anything they should be getting an RMC single now and have gotten them to go a great job on it already. My main thing about almost preferring GCI is I'd rather not see not still be an out and back. design with so many ejector airtime hills. But the one before the low section that leads up to the ending changed into an inversion and like one other hill made into one would be fine. I feel like if they hire RMC we will get less comfortable seating, and if they won't get another wooden coaster, then it'll just be the steel hybrid.And the park if anything can use another wooden coaster, even if it's a family gravity group model. The loss of flats is ridicoulous too they could easily be getting something new this year like a zamperla endeavour at minimal and should be.

@@spentron1 Good point but it does feel very different from even RMC topper track and I'm talking like 2016-2018 when it was (with the exception of the big first turn drop and the two spots on hill bottoms they actually redid well enough) generally running better. Basically smoother but could still feel a real difference. Honestly I feel like it's one of those bizzare nobody talks about or addresses but RMC's own trains are not as good as the gertsular trains and the wild moose train design is far closer. Iron Rattler is way more comfortable than most RMC's simply because you don't get your legs dug into on all the ejector. I wouldn't want that on El Toro, its already annoying people at the end of AireForce One and people willing to speak up on Steel Vengeance (because it's a crazy intense ride too) as well. I'd almost prefer GCI for a fix and a new coaster (would save money) simply because of that reason. However if it can be worked on my any of the "main three" essentially RMC/GCI/Gravity Group and brought back to like 2010 levels that is far more needed than another multi launch a year after another one is opening. Just throw a three flat ride package at us first and give it an extra year to work on doing something to fix what's already there.

So, everythin with CGA sale aside, the one thing people forget is the operation 'buddy' concept. RailBlazer is SUPER unreliable and when its down, where do people go? Demon. And since RB is down a lot (and I mean A LOT) Demon has good ridership. But that station needs work. It's practically falling apart. I say demon the station, to the foundation, shade the queue or make a tunnel, paint the track a nice cherry red, and cut down trees so we can see the loops and add some chaser lights to them. Its a decent ride, but unless RB js down, people rarely know its there.

That’s such a good point. I’ve seen that at other parks where one ride goes down and immediately jacks up the wait time for another ride on a frequent basis. As far as them investing in the park, I sadly don’t see it happening with the moves they’ve been making removing events etc.
@oneandonlysound993 күн бұрын
Yeah, it is ridicoulous. You'd think a previously only Cedar Fair park would've been taking way better care. Yet the sister Demon at Six Flags Great America has all the sounds, effects, nice paint around it and is pretty visible. Not so much from one side but there's a nice amount of rides (and the dark ride) over there so kind of a good reason. Also you'd think they'd want to try to fix it after this many years. This again Jersey Devil is also annoyingly unreliable to the point where I could've thought of 3 better options (one being to actually fix El Toro properly) for a new coaster then and waited until now. The newer single rails clearly are much more efficient, hopefully wonder woman at fiesta texas will be better though ti should've just gotten the whole thing madeover with less stress and better capacity if they were going to spend that money in the first place.

I could be wrong, but unless something major happens, I think Steel Venom might actually be one of the last Intamin Impulses to go for three reasons: 1. It’s the only Intamin Impulse that still has its holding break. Valleyfair invests a lot of money keeping that maintained and it’s a huge part of their marketing every season. 2. The chain doesn’t really care much about Valleyfair, so as long as Steel Venom isn’t a major money pit, they’ll probably leave it alone. 3. Its location. There are parking lot coasters-and then there’s Steel Venom. Unless they took out at least three flat rides that are next to it, it would be so hard to replace it because there aren’t a lot of options that would fit there. Similarly, Dorney Park keeps investing in Possessed, even making sure B&M designed Iron Menace in a way that protected Possessed. This comment could age like an avocado, but I’d hedge my bets on Steel Venom and Possessed being safe for a while.

The current only switchback gravity group coaster is too small for a big park like it to just move (it's literally up for sale) but they could build something like it. It's also been 84 yrs since they removed Hercules which was smoother than thunderhawk so they could go with a second wooden roller coaster. Cedar Fair also should've never removed Laser, that was just stupid especially for a broken coaster they closed in 5 years.
